When the door was reopened, the creature was heard retreating through the woods while vocalizing.

After returning to their picnic area they heard very loud vocalizations again nearby, believed it had followed them, and ran for their vehicle.

At close range he saw a creature kneeling on one knee that stood and stared at him before walking into dense woods and looking back once. He attempted to follow with an audio recorder but only heard uncertain sounds in the brush and eventually lost his pack and left as darkness approached.

The witness was sitting on the porch at night when the dogs reacted to a heavy stepping sound nearby. After getting her husband, the couple watched a grayish hair-covered biped about 5 feet tall leap onto and off a refrigerator on a trailer, knocking the trailer off its blocks. The animal then fled on two legs in a stooped posture toward the road while the husband fired a pistol into the ground.

Near his car he saw a fur-covered bipedal figure about 50 feet away in pines, watched it briefly, then it noticed him and ran toward the woods and field. He later found large pressed-down footprints in grass, and the spouse's father found scat in the same area said to differ from deer or bear.

Those present were frightened and the witness called the conservation office, after which nothing further happened that night.

A couple walking on a gated two-track trail near the Trinity River at dusk claimed a rusty-red upright figure about six feet tall leapt across the trail about 40 yards ahead and disappeared into the woods in under a second. They ran to the crossing point and reported hearing it continue running through the woods, flushing birds, and the primary witness smelled a strong musky odor. They found no tracks but noted a clump of freshly uprooted trees nearby.
