The driver and a passenger were driving on a rural highway late at night when headlights illuminated a very large upright bipedal figure near the road edge. The figure turned and moved quickly into the woods on two feet. The driver stopped, and both occupants agreed on its unusually large size and human-like movement, dismissing a bear as an explanation.

The head stared for several seconds, turned away briefly as if distracted, then looked back. Frightened, the witness turned away, asked it to leave, and did not look back.

The figure was directly in front of the vehicle on the exit road and moved quickly left into dense forest, with only its lower torso visible. The witness reported driving a big rig toward a steel plant in spring 2021 when spotting a tall upright creature on the right side of the road about 60-90 feet into the woods. On an overcast October morning the witness watched a large hairy figure move on all fours down a road through young pines. At the hilltop it suddenly rose to full height, looked toward his parked four-wheeler with an expressive frown, then turned toward him before walking away between pines. In a partially lit spot at the woods edge the witness saw a reddish, long-haired, ape-like creature squatting with its long arms forward.

Slowing for what was thought to be a deer, the witness realized at close range it was very tall, man-like with arms, and covered in light-colored hair. As the van passed, the creature appeared to lunge toward the vehicle with its shoulders above the van roof, and the witness sped away frightened.

Five occupants of a van driving on Route 301 in South Carolina late at night encountered a tall black hairy biped crossing the road. The driver swerved and braked to avoid a collision as the animal paused, looked toward the vehicle, then hurried across. When the occupants looked back, it was gone.

The witness was driving on Hwy 402 at dusk to load steel when an animal was seen ahead on all fours crossing the road. The witness first thought horse or bear but rejected those due to unnatural gait, thin body, excessive height, long dark brown hair, and small head. The witness slowed and stopped where it entered thick woods and estimated it would stand about 9 feet tall, believing it was a bigfoot.

After returning late from out-of-town work in summer, the witness received a neighbor call about a large black figure behind the house. Grabbing a handgun, the witness ran around the house and saw a furry massive figure moving through bushes. A running chase followed across fences, a ravine, garden and barn path to a creek and hill, where the figure pulled away uphill and vanished.

Two coworkers were pumping feed into silos on a turkey farm after midnight. One smelled an unfamiliar odor and shone a spotlight, spotting an animal behind a barn picking objects from the ground and blocking the light with its hand. He alerted his coworker, who also shone his light, saw the large creature walking toward him, then retreated to the front of the farm.
