The witness saw the upper body of a large dark unclothed figure moving rapidly past the house beside the pool area. By the time the witness reached the door, the figure had gone over the fence, and the gate was still latched and locked.

In early autumn at mid-day the witness was burning damp feed sacks behind a bunkhouse when a flare-up was followed by a startled sound behind him. He turned and saw a tall reddish-brown biped run upright into virgin woods and disappear within seconds. A professional driver was driving an empty bus eastbound on U.S. Highway 160 near Mancos, between Cortez and Durango, shortly after sunset. About 150 yards ahead, the witness saw a large, entirely dark, muscular figure on two legs dash rapidly across the road from south to north in two to three seconds. When the witness reached the crossing point, thick woods on both sides hid any further trace, and a second driver traveling behind did not see the crossing.

While hunting elk at dusk, the witness and a companion climbed out of a draw and surprised a tall black hair-covered creature about 30 feet away. The creature made a loud whoof sound as it moved into a small stand of pines, displacing a bough. After the pair backed away, it gave a low guttural growl ending with teeth clicking, frightening them enough to leave.

While waiting on a narrow high-elevation trail for other climbers to pass, the witness and four companions watched a hair-covered biped move rapidly across a steep shale bowl toward vegetation. The creature alternated between running upright and moving on all fours over boulders. After about two minutes it disappeared into dense vegetation and was not approached due to climbing conditions.

The witness drove late to a job site to retrieve a bobcat loader with a dump truck and trailer. While loading, he noticed a skunk-like smell and then saw red eyes watching from down the road, appearing taller than six feet. After moving the truck he saw the same eyes again about 30 feet into the woods at roughly his eye level from the cab. He maneuvered to turn the truck around and drove away quickly without looking back for several miles.

The witness was outside feeding horses at home in the afternoon when a tall, very hairy figure was seen from behind. The figure ran very fast across a pasture, jumped a wide creek, and continued up a hill into woods to the north. The witness watched from about 200 feet away and never saw the face, and never saw the figure again.

The witness was driving north with three companions when the two occupants in the front seat watched a large figure run across the road from right to left and disappear into dense woods and brush. A passenger in the back seat saw the figure only as it entered the brush. The front-seat witnesses described uniform coloration, very big running strides, and a forward-hunched posture, and said it never looked toward them.

About 50 yards ahead, a large very dark humanoid figure emerged from the woods and crossed the roadway to the south with long, fast strides. The witness was walking with a dog on a dirt road in the early evening when the dog became agitated and aggressive. The witness heard grunting and movement in nearby woods, then saw a large hair-covered biped rise from behind a fallen tree and retreat into the woods. The dog chased the creature while the witness ran home, and the dog returned later unharmed. A strong road-kill-like odor was noted around the time of the sighting.

The witness was driving west on the highway in the late afternoon when he came around a curve and saw a large dark creature at the guardrail on the right. The creature stood upright, turned its head to look at him, then turned and leapt feet-first off the embankment out of sight. The witness believed it was not a bear because of its flat face, wide shoulders, and upright movement over the guardrail.

The witness let dogs out at camp and walked up the hill behind the trailer to find a small dog. While resting near a rock face, the witness heard the dog bark, looked back, and saw a tall black figure running down the hill. The witness followed the sound of it crashing through brush to a clearing below, where the noise stopped.

The witness was elk hunting with a companion in the evening near a pickup. After hearing loud movement coming downhill, the witness briefly saw a bipedal figure running along a ridge through burned trees, then heard loud screams. The companion also heard the screams over the radio and in person as they met to discuss it.

The witness was driving on Highway 2 when the car ahead stopped to avoid an animal crossing the road. The witness stopped behind that car and watched the animal from behind as it reached the left side of the road and walked into the bushes.
