Dusk sighting by a US Forest Service Law Enforcement Officer on the beach south of Tillamook
A couple camping on a remote Oregon beach at dusk watched a very large, dark, hair-covered biped walk back and forth on the sand several times, at times passing close by. The witness later found very large, deep footprints where it had walked and, when it approached again at night, shouted and then fled to camp. Both stayed through the night without further sightings and photographed the tracks at daybreak.

The witness was serving as a conductor on a westbound freight train at daybreak near milepost 36. As the train rounded a curve, the crew noticed a dark, hairy figure sitting between the rails. After the whistle was blown, the figure stood up and ran on two legs into nearby trees and brush with its long arms swinging, and could not be relocated.

The witness, then 16 and volunteering at a day camp near the Molalla River, was left alone seated on a log while a companion went back toward camp. About 50 feet away beside a large tree, a tall, wide, brown-furred man-like figure made direct eye contact for a few seconds. It then stepped behind the tree and ran away loudly, snapping branches, after which the witness ran back toward camp and met the companion.

In early spring 1995, the witness and a companion were driving at night along a highway by the Columbia River. In the truck headlights they saw a small red-haired figure sitting in the roadway, apparently struggling to push itself up as if injured. The driver swerved to avoid hitting it and they kept driving without going back, fearing a nearby mother.

While deer hunting from a boulder overlooking a clearing, the witness shot a standing figure three times in the back as it ran. It fell to its knees, got up and ran toward camp where his friend also shot. The next night several creatures surrounded the camp and the men fired nearly all ammunition before leaving in the morning.

Late at night the witness sat in a parked car with a companion planning the next day. When the headlights were turned on to light a path to the front door, the witness saw a huge slender brown hair-covered figure sprint across the backyard covering about 40 yards very quickly. The companion was distracted and did not see it, and the yard dogs were unusually quiet and whimpered.

During elk bow season the witness was tracking a wounded elk in daylight when movement was seen across a clearing. A large hair-covered biped with long arms crossed the clearing, paused at the far edge to look directly at the witness, then continued away. Around 3 a.m. the witness claims a large animal walked through the group's camp from dense cover while everyone listened. The witness deliberately stayed quiet to avoid provoking it. Later the campers compared notes and one said he had seen a human-like silhouette at the time they all heard the animal.

The witness was waiting for the morning bus in foggy, dim light when a large dark figure emerged from behind the approaching bus. The figure ran quickly across an open sagebrush valley toward ponderosa trees and the nearby forest, disappearing behind houses. The witness noted the speed and lack of any trail, and later found only faint ground marks.

The second guest says in the mid-1990s while on an eight-night solo hike in southern Oregon he camped at a ridge divide and found a large bare footprint and smeared scuffle-like prints. After dark something black moved in an amphitheater about 75 to 100 feet away, drank at a pond for a minute or more on all fours, then circled his camp bipedally and stared at him with icy gray eyes before leaving. He did not use his flashlight and felt the being warned him not to.

The witness and several friends drove to the top of a desert butte late at night to continue partying. A silent light approached, hovered overhead, and shined a bright spotlight on the group, followed by several orange lights rising from the valley floor into the sky. While driving down, three of them saw a huge bipedal shape cross the road and followed it on foot, getting close enough to hear it breathing before it left silently. At sunrise the two who remained saw several tall slender gray-haired humanoids with yellow eyes peeking from cover and felt they were being escorted off the land.

The witness was talking on the phone in the kitchen in the afternoon and looked across the creek at a forested hillside after the dogs barked. She watched a tall, hairy, ape-like figure moving through the bushes for about two minutes while describing it to her sister on the phone. The figure then disappeared and was not seen again.

Two skateboarders riding ahead of their group heard a high scream then close low grunts off a paved bike trail. One crouched to look and saw a very hairy black bipedal animal crouched about 10 yards away that they had run past. The animal stood to about 6 to 7 feet tall, then ran upright into thick brush swinging its arms, moving very fast and loudly through deadfall before going silent. The pair fled to their companions and a later search of the dead brush found no tracks or sign.

About 11 years ago the witness was sorting shakes outside a cabin when a tied dog began growling toward the forest. The witness saw a large hairy bipedal figure moving from tree to tree, appearing to approach while staying behind cover. The witness called two children out to watch it, and the figure left when the witness's partner arrived.

The fellow soldier was with the heavy equipment section preparing the third-site hole and stepped aside for a cigarette. From there he saw three large hair-covered bipeds in the second quarry area, about 100 meters west of where the guest later saw them. He watched them walk out of the quarry into the tree line with a smooth gliding motion, and could contrast their size with uniformed soldiers working below.

The guest, an Army combat engineer, was riding in a convoy down from a demolition site in Oregon timberland when he looked toward a recently blasted quarry. He saw three large, jet-black, hair-covered bipeds standing in the open, with broad shoulders, no visible neck, and very long arms. He watched them for about 25 seconds until the convoy turned a corner and lost sight.

The witness was part of a demolitions training convoy descending to a staging area when three hair-covered bipedal creatures were seen watching from the middle of a quarry. The middle individual was tallest and stood still while the two smaller flankers rocked side to side. They watched a dark, hairy figure in a snow-covered clearing between the train and the river for about eight minutes as it alternately crouched and walked a few steps. Contrasty light prevented detailed feature viewing, and the train departed with the figure still watching.

Two occupants driving at dusk on a forested secondary highway in Oregon passed a very large animal eating in the middle of the road. The animal showed no fear, lifted its head to look at the car as they passed, then resumed eating. The witnesses described it as massive and solid with two-toned hair and an unusual pushed-in snout, estimating it would stand at least seven feet tall erect, and said it did not match bear, wolf, or dog familiar to them.

The witness and a relative were test-driving a pickup on a gravel road and stopped by the roadside. They saw a large hairy figure about 100 yards away across a gorge, standing motionless on an old stump and watching them for about five minutes before turning and disappearing into the trees. Steep terrain prevented them from reaching the spot to check for tracks.
