In 1971, the witness and a companion were driving at night near Boring, Oregon when a large upright hair-covered figure about 6 ft tall appeared in the headlights about 40-50 ft ahead. The figure entered the road from the right, paused to look toward them, then ran down the road about 30-40 ft before going up an embankment to the left and out of sight. The pair stopped and got out of the car but saw nothing further.
