Woman recalls encountering a creature while driving through Talladega National Forest
The witness reported rounding a sharp curve on a two-lane road at night with headlights illuminating a standing figure on the roadside very close to the car. The figure appeared hunched and swung its arms in a manner the witness interpreted as angry or about to jump into the road. A daughter was also in the car during the encounter that lasted several seconds.

The witness was deer hunting alone from a box blind on an old railroad bed in the morning. Through a rifle scope he watched a large black-haired biped move between the woods and a field for about twenty minutes, at one point scratching its leg like a person and checking the wind. After it reached a corn pile it turned toward the blind, froze when the witness waved, then fled extremely fast back the way it came. The witness later told his father and the property manager, who searched the area and nearby houses but found no matching poacher.

The witness was catfishing with his father, wife, uncle and cousin at a rock levee. Rocks were repeatedly thrown from the levee top only when someone was near the fish stringer. When he turned, the group saw a very tall, very wide female creature holding a tree and throwing rocks while grunting and swaying, then they fled to the truck and left all gear.

The witness was on a multi-day canoe trip in the Boundary Waters with two friends. After leaving their shared tent late at night to urinate, he urinated on what he thought was a rock. The shape rose rapidly to about three to four feet tall, made a disgusted grunt or exhale, and ran away bipedally, leaving the witness in intense panic.

Shortly after graduation the witness and three friends camped overnight in a vacant house and were tormented by whistles and loud bangs on windows all night. They found the house completely destroyed when they returned the next day. On a dusk return with shotguns they saw trailers upslope, heard the whistle again, and a large rock was thrown at them, prompting gunfire before they fled.

While hunting with a friend near an old homestead clearing, the witness saw a tall dark figure drop quickly into bushes. Later that evening while hiking out on a ridge trail, both men were hit by an intense wall of foul body odor. The friend told him to stay quiet and keep walking, and they never discussed it again.

Two companions were resting by their vehicles while deer hunting in the early afternoon when two bipedal creatures were seen crossing a road from west to east about two-tenths of a mile away toward pines and a swamp. The lead individual was described as a 6.5-foot light-brown male walking hunched, followed about 15 yards behind by a 5.5-foot black female with breasts who appeared to be holding something at her waist. Both were said to walk without locking their knees.

While driving at night near Fanning Springs, the witness rounded a bend and caught a large black upright figure in the headlights standing on the edge of the road. The figure appeared startled and hunkered down with its head obscured, showing wet glistening black fur. The witness slowed as the figure turned off the road and disappeared into a swampy area.

On the final evening he heard a loud knock then prolonged screaming directed at him and footsteps circling behind him. He fled, was physically ill for days, and avoided deep woods afterward.

The guest took his children and his daughter's boyfriend to cut firewood. They heard child-like giggling, found stacked wood thrown from the truck and food missing, and saw large footprints. While driving out, a log hit the truck hood and two large dark figures ran down the canyon alongside them.

The witness was mountain biking with a dog in a management area when they noticed a light-colored figure squatting with its back turned about 50 yards away near a chasm. The figure turned, stood up fairly erect, and disappeared into the woods. The witness rode to the spot but found no tracks, hair, odor, or sign of direction, and the dog did not react.

A tall white-covered creature with dark skin on the face and hands stood nearby with a hand on a tree and was observed for about 30 seconds. A huge black hairy creature launched off a ridge and chased the deer on all fours across the road into a valley. As the deer neared the treeline, the guest saw the outline of a second, larger creature standing upright as if waiting in ambush.

Two boys camping on a wooded ridge left their tent in the early morning and noticed a large bipedal shape moving in nearby trees. Around dawn they heard a strange howling from down the ridge that did not sound like a dog or coyote.
