Nighttime sighting by four witnesses, near Plainwell

Late at night at home, the witness and three companions heard banging on the deck and went outside to investigate. In moonlight they saw a large shape kneeling on the lawn that stood and ran across the lawn, through a puddle, and up a driveway. The group later heard low growling and groaning, and the following afternoon the witness found a large footprint in a nearby sandbox.

The witness was driving with two companions when they saw a hair-covered figure move between tree groups across a meadow and later stand at the far end of the meadow. The witness got out and approached on foot to within about 30 yards before the figure turned and went into the trees. The witness then reported finding and measuring footprints in the area.

On the afternoon of May 9, 2002, the witness was traveling toward Mt. St. Helens and looked down into the Toutle wash. The witness saw a dark, long-armed figure walking through the creek heading northeast for about 5 seconds, judging it much larger than a man from its stride. The driving companion did not see it. They stopped and scanned the area for 10-15 minutes with no further movement, but noted disturbed ground where it appeared to leave the woods.

Footsteps heard on beach, witness turns to see a furry leg disappear around a bend

The witness was hiking back toward the car through dunes and a small forested area near a creek as daylight faded in drizzle. After hearing quiet stepping sounds, the witness turned and glimpsed a large furry human-like leg disappearing around a bend. Believing it was a Bigfoot that meant no harm but feeling frightened, the witness did not pursue it and sprinted to the car.

The reporting relative relayed an account from the witness, who was painting a vacant house at night. Around 10:45 p.m. the witness stepped into the front yard to smoke and heard dogs barking and something crashing through trees. A very large, hairy creature ran past at high speed making loud grunting sounds before crossing the road and disappearing.

Hunter recalls sighting while deer hunting.

The witness was bear hunting across a steep canyon in intermittent rain and drifting fog when a dark moving figure was spotted on the opposite slope about 300 yards away. First mistaken for a person through the rifle scope, binoculars revealed a two-legged figure covered in long dark shaggy hair. The figure looked toward the witness then ran parallel along the canyon, covering about 150 yards in under half a minute over very steep ground without using its hands. Shaken and unable to shoot, the witness left and reports no longer entering that drainage.

Hiker has daytime encounter in Sam Houston National Forest

The witness was walking alone on an old logging road into the forest when he noticed a dark, robust, hairy being crouched in thick brush watching him. The being paralleled him for 20-25 minutes, then crouched low when approached, producing a strange odor and low growl. After hearing large movement behind him, the witness retreated to the trail and watched the first being stand upright and stare, as a second much larger dark being appeared beside it before he ran home.

Possible sighting near Sullivan Lake

Two companions were camping overnight on a fishing trip near Sullivan Lake when they were awakened by a distant crash and a musty odor. A second, louder crash close to camp was followed by a grunt, and the narrator saw a tall gray-furred shape through the tent mesh that fled when lit by a flashlight. Both spent the rest of the night in the truck and left the area the next day.

Hunter sees creature in camp

The witness was camping alone late at night after hunting, field-dressing a deer, and leaving the entrails away from camp. After hearing footsteps and faint noises to the south, the witness smelled a strong foul odor and walked out with a rifle and spotlight. A big hairy figure stood up, watched the witness briefly, then walked away casually. The witness returned to the tent but left the campsite that night.

The witness hiked about a mile up a road looking for animal tracks in snow and reached thick old-growth woods. From about 30 yards away he saw a roughly 7-foot figure with long black and slight grey hair that moved behind two trees and stayed still after he shouted and fired warning shots into a stump. A second similarly large entity then ran down the mountainside to his left breaking branches, and the witness backed out.

River guide sees skinny bigfoot at dusk

After completing a kayak scout of a San Juan River section, the witness drove at dusk to retrieve his truck. Companions ahead alerted him by radio that the passenger saw something near an old sheep corral. He then briefly saw the back of a tall, skinny, gray figure with long arms and a pointy head in his headlights before it left quickly.

Hikers startled by encounter at remote cabin near Woodstock

Three backpackers camping at a remote stone cabin heard loud heavy bipedal footsteps circling their site for an extended period and retreated inside. After the sounds stopped outside a shuttered window, the shutters were opened to reveal a large dark hairy face with large eyes staring in from very close range. After a few seconds of mutual staring the creature left quickly and no further sounds were heard overnight. They left in the morning and found no tracks due to ice.

Dusk sighting by hunter on Fort Hunter Liggett

The witness was waiting camouflaged near a creek for wild pigs after sunset. A very large silver-gray biped walked upright along a raised road about 75 feet away, taking several strides through a clearing before disappearing. The witness ran to the road, called out, and drove the area but found nothing, and a next-morning search found no tracks.

The witness and a companion were driving west at night when a large hairy figure came up from a river bottom and crossed the highway in their headlights. They watched it for an extended time as it walked across the wide road, swinging its arms and glancing toward their vehicle, then left the shoulder down a small embankment. Both occupants waited until after passing it to discuss what they had seen.

The witness and friends were around a campfire at night when they heard movement in the brush around them that stopped when a flashlight was shone. A tree was then pushed over onto the fire, putting it out. When they shone the light toward the direction the tree came from, they saw a large black furry creature moving quickly away and breaking branches off trees.

Two people walking near a hotel on a very cold January afternoon noticed a large dark figure moving steadily up a snow-covered hill in the distance. They described it as walking upright and bipedally and appearing larger than a human. They watched it for about 20 to 30 minutes until they had to go inside, and it was gone when they checked again later.

Two occupants of a car traveling westbound on I-84 at night reported a tall hair-covered biped crossing the freeway in front of their vehicle. They said they missed hitting it by about two feet before it went over the guardrail toward the river side and disappeared into the dark. They called a relative by cell phone shortly afterward to report what had happened.

Teen walking in woods sees glowing eyes, dark figure

The witness was walking alone in the woods behind a motel in the evening, staying within sight of the motel lights. The witness noticed a pair of glowing eyes about 30 feet away at about 7 to 8 feet off the ground. Moving a little closer, the witness saw a large shadowy form and made eye contact, then gave a thumbs-up signal and walked away.

The witness reported seeing a large, fur-covered, ape-like animal moving upright on two legs through desert sagebrush. The animal moved quickly out of the brush, crossed a roadway, and continued into sagebrush on the far side.

The guest was archery hunting with a church companion in the same area as his later sighting, walking into trees to push deer. He felt something behind him and glimpsed brown on both sides in his peripheral vision. When he moved to look there was nothing there, and his partner emerged far away chasing something in the opposite direction.
