The witness was hiking above the dam at Deadwood Reservoir when he noticed movement uphill about 60-70 yards away. A reddish, bulky bipedal animal stood, looked toward him, then walked quickly uphill out of sight. He also heard deep grunting, left camp early, and said the encounter challenged his prior skepticism.

The witness was scouting for a deer stand site in a swampy pine forest in the early afternoon. After hearing a distant splash and nearby snapping limbs, the witness saw a massive ape-like animal running away while grunting. The animal disappeared into the swamp, leaving a strong musk smell. After hearing thuds on the shack wall, three men went outside to investigate toward the outhouse. In the pitch dark beyond the outhouse they saw small pulsing dark-red lights that vanished when stared at directly and shifted position, with up to three seen at once. One man using a thermal scope saw no heat where the lights were but briefly saw a round white heat signature like a face peeking from behind a stump or tree, then later saw the pulsing red light; the lights eventually disappeared.

After giving vocal calls from a fishing dock after sundown, the witness got responses, then silence, then rocks splashing near the dock. He went to the parking lot with a machete and faced eyeshine about 70 feet away. He and the creature mimicked each other's movements and exchanged grunts for 20 to 30 minutes until a fishing bell rang and it walked away whistling softly.

About 50 yards away the witness saw a dark shape that resolved into a face with heavy brow, broad nose, dark hair and dark eyes that turned to the side and back before disappearing. Afterward the witness heard whistles and a low guttural sound, felt unwelcome and unwell, waited, then later sketched what was seen.

The guest and a friend arrived at dusk to camp in a remote state forest and set up tents and a fire. They heard a very loud whoop from the tree line, followed by six knocks in pairs and movement breaking branches in a ravine. After a quiet period they heard close vocalizations including a whoop, rapid chatter and a deep yowl, then saw a dark crouched outline lunge into the forest, after which they abandoned camp and drove home.

That night the party climbed the same mountain and the witness sat apart while others settled. He heard quiet brushing movement circling his position, then a long loud howl rose from the valley, and on the descent the party reported being paced, green eyeshine, and a bright head behind rocks seen on thermal by several members. As the witness took the lead near a thicket he heard a close juvenile-like two-syllable vocalization but saw nothing with his light.

Late at night the witness was gaming at home when she heard a deep growl that grew louder and shifted into a loud distressed bellowing outside her office window. She looked toward the window and saw a pair of yellow-green luminous eyes watching her for a few seconds before they turned and moved away. She initially thought the eyes might be human but concluded they were not, and the next day found no tracks beneath the window.

At dusk the witness and her mother saw a bear-like shape near the ranch house stand up into a very tall bipedal creature. The group confronted it, heard loud hissing and a loud bellow-whoop as it quickly climbed a rock face and disappeared. The next day measurements suggested 10 to 12 feet tall, with a heavy foot impression and dark hair found in the area.

After hearing a loud baby-like cry and a heavy barreling sound down the cliff, the witness saw a large black-haired bipedal creature stop nearby, appear angry, then soften, gesture with its hands, back away, and leap up the cliff out of sight. The witness left with the child and later found large marks where the creature had climbed.

The witness parked by a gated abandoned road and walked about a mile, then left the road to inspect tire marks. He found teepee-like stick structures, snapped saplings he could not break, and downed trees funneling movement into a wash. Birds went silent, loud tongue-clicking surrounded him with an answering whistle, and objects sounding like rocks were thrown as he left. From a field with a large quartz rock he saw a dark shape in a distant tree.

On a side trail the witness encountered a human-sized hairy figure eating leaves, then a taller female figure that gestured to the smaller one to stay calm and made a strange vocalization toward the trail behind. While leaving near the parking lot the witness saw an even taller male figure behind a rock staring, then left quickly and remained distressed afterward.

While alone at the pool the witness saw a reddish-brown head and shoulder at a distance, then heard whistles, knocks and deep grunts over several days. Days later she looked up to see a very tall hairy figure standing at the woods edge near the yard. She experienced fog and missing time while getting out of the pool and returning to the house.

One morning the witness saw a large gray hair-covered figure partially obscured by foliage across the road, which flexed visibly muscular tissue and then left silently with smooth fluid motion. He searched the area on foot and by sitting in concealment that evening, noticed unusual wildlife silence and a sense of being watched, and heard a final knock above the tent that night.
