The witness hiked into public land to bowhunt deer from a climber stand. After the woods went silent he heard two wood knocks, then saw a black bipedal figure through timber that vanished. Moments later a very large jet-black wolf-like animal appeared nearby staring at him, stalked toward a cedar thicket and disappeared. While hiking out he heard a deep scream-howl, panicked and ran to his truck and avoided the woods for the rest of deer season.

Three people camping overnight near a creek reported prolonged howling in the evening and a close loud scream during the night. Through the night they heard movement around the tents, sticks hitting trees, branches breaking, and had objects disturbed including a tent stake pulled out. They also reported white eyeshine, a pungent odor, a dark figure seen in the treeline after daylight, and footprints and torn branches found in the morning.

A deer hunter in scent-masking clothes and a ghillie suit was set up on a rock overlooking a saddle at daybreak. A large dark ape-like animal threw a stick that landed behind him, then charged after he shouted and pointed his muzzleloader. He fired in front of it to deter it; it stopped, stood, grunted, and a smaller one emerged crying before both left. He abandoned his gear and found it ransacked the next day.

Two people were sitting in a parked car by the lake late at night when they saw a large hairy figure approaching on the road. After turning on the headlights the figure ran into the woods, followed by a strong animal odor, loud crashing and scream-like vocalizations. A log was then thrown with enough force to move their car, prompting them to drive away.

The witness and a companion arrived home at night and heard a loud roaring scream twice from a nearby hillside. The witness took a light and walked toward the woods without it on, smelling a strong foul odor and hearing branches breaking. When the flashlight was turned on, the witness briefly saw a tall, large, hairy bipedal animal fleeing through the woods. Broken branches and ground disturbance were found the next day.

The witness was walking to a rural residence for a delivery when birds, horses, and deer fled from a nearby tree cluster. The witness then heard a loud deep growl rising into a scream from the trees and saw a very tall, wide, dark furry figure partly hidden in shadows moving along the tree line. Frightened, the witness ran to the truck and left. The next day the resident said strange sounds had occurred lately and warned against entering the woods alone.

The guest's mother arrived at his grandmother's farm at night and was hurried inside after being told a tall hairy creature was nearby. Family members then used a spotlight to show her a figure stepping out of the light along the tree line. Over the following years the family reported repeated nighttime visits marked by forest silence, strong odor, screams and chatter, plus damage to orchard trees and garden crops.

Guest age 7 and his grandfather saw a tall upright figure standing above the corn at the edge of the field in the evening and went inside. Later that night the guest woke to a strong odor and saw a dark hairy figure filling the bedroom window looking in, while his grandfather held a pistol. The figure moved to the front porch where the grandfather fired a shotgun through the screen door, after which it fled up the road vocalizing with screams and distant whoops.

About twelve people gathered at the same spot, played recorded screams, then heard a high-pitched drawn-out scream, had a log land near a vehicle, saw movement toward the creek and heard a rock slammed down.

While stopped by an abandoned quarry lake, the guest heard a branch snap and baby-like crying. He walked over and found a small hairy juvenile stuck upside down by its leg in a tree. Two larger hairy females then appeared, one growled and yelled, and he fled back to his motorcycle where he later found three shiny rocks on the gas tank.

As a teenager the guest and three friends sat on car hoods at night on a straight gravel road in river bottoms. They saw a figure standing in the middle of the road while a scream erupted from near an oil derrick about 25 meters away. The boys scrambled into the car and drove away, later disagreeing on details, with one friend reporting a closer figure by the derrick.
