Cryptid sighting near Forks, Washington (1998)
Three friends driving up a logging road to party encountered an animal that ran in front of them and they almost hit. It was described as deer-colored with a kangaroo-like body on two legs, dog-like haunches, small crouched dinosaur-like arms, a long thick shaggy tail, a deer snout and two-point antlers. The witness heard the account in high school from the friends involved.

While hunting with a companion who was napping, the witness was playing with a chipmunk and looked up to see a large dark creature watching him through a pine tree 40 to 60 feet away. He observed part of its head, eye, nose, mouth and shoulder for an unknown time and glanced at rifles nearby. When he looked back a second time the creature was gone silently without tracks he recognized.

While bow-hunting near Ludington, the witness watched deer flee, found 12-foot-high scratches, then saw a huge white-haired biped step between pines 50 yards away and walk toward him snapping saplings aside. He fled barefoot to the cabin after his boots came off and returned next morning to find saplings snapped evenly at six feet.

The witness and her husband drove in a low car at dusk to look for a moose previously seen in a coulee. Something came up the hillside toward the car, producing a terrible stench, then ran beside the witness's open window close enough to touch. She saw only brownish-gray legs and leathery brown foot pads flashing as it ran, and her husband drove away fast and refused to discuss what he saw.

Through the sliding door the witness saw a tall blonde hair-covered biped move very fast across the yard and pause to look before disappearing. The witness was sitting on rocks with two companions as it was getting dark. They heard rustling sounds and then saw multiple figures moving behind them. The figures then stopped moving and disappeared into the surroundings, and the group left on foot while frightened.

About two years before the report, the witness was mushroom hunting and searching for a relative when a single entity came down a hillside nearby. After leaving a gym and buying a milkshake, the witness parked on a dark country road by railroad tracks to drink it. A rock struck the car, then a large head appeared behind the car and then directly at the passenger window only feet away. The face stared at him for several minutes with bared teeth before a car approached from behind and he drove away.

The witness and her partner drove in a low car at dusk to look at a bull moose that had been feeding in a green coulee. After hearing movement in the grass, a brown hairy thing came up the bank to the road. It ran beside the car close enough to touch, showing only huge legs and foot pads, with a terrible stench that lingered in the car as they sped away.

The witness and a companion were riding a four-wheeler through a swampy forest off abandoned tracks at dusk. The witness first noticed a black flash in the woods, then heard whistling and rustling behind them while riding slowly. Looking back, the witness perceived a large black bulk pursuing them and saw two yellow glowing eyes. The companion reportedly saw nothing, and the witness did not mention it at the time to avoid alarming the companion.

The witness was driving early on a snowy January morning near Rt. 55 in the Seneca Valley when they noticed a very tall, dark, fuzzy ape-like creature standing upright just off the road. The creature then stepped into the road, and the witness swerved to avoid hitting it.

The witness and two companions were driving on a dirt road at night using a spotlight to look for deer, with the witness sitting in the truck bed holding the light. The witness illuminated a huge bear-like figure with red eyes at the edge of the woods and estimated its height at about 6 feet 5 inches to 7 feet. The witness quickly climbed into the truck cab through the rear window. A companion on the same side of the truck also saw the figure.

While on night patrol, the witness responded to a companion's report of something standing by trees behind a building and shone a spotlight into the woods. A very large upright hairy creature holding a branch was seen, which then dropped the branch, looked back with red eyeshine, screamed, and ran away with a strong odor left behind. The witnesses later found a large pine branch torn from about nine feet up.

The witness was acting as gunner in a vehicle moving without lights during a night training exercise and watching through a thermal sight. A tall, unclothed figure emerged from dense roadside vegetation about fifty yards ahead, crossed the dirt road in three strides, and re-entered vegetation without appearing to notice the vehicle. The witness reported the figure after it disappeared, but the crew drove on without stopping to investigate.

Early one morning the witness was on the porch seeing a companion off to work when she noticed two large hair-covered creatures sitting by a stump between properties. She screamed, and before the companion could turn around both creatures sprang up and fled into the woods in a fraction of a second. She described them as light to medium brown and very broad-shouldered with arms reaching the ground while seated, but she could not discern faces or standing height.

The witness was driving north on a highway in the early morning when a large upright creature crossed the road ahead. The witness slowed while passing as the creature stood in a ditch facing away from the road. The encounter lasted about 15 seconds and was lit only by the car headlights.

The witness estimated it at 6-7 feet tall and over 300 pounds, moving very fast in a few steps with arms pumping and a hunched posture. The witness stopped at the crossing point but noted no odor and found no tracks due to hard ground.

The witness walked about 50 feet ahead and encountered a huge, tall, hairy creature kneeling. The creature chased the witness, and both individuals fled out of the woods. When they looked back, it was gone.
