Account
The witness was acting as gunner in a vehicle moving without lights during a night training exercise and watching through a thermal sight. A tall, unclothed figure emerged from dense roadside vegetation about fifty yards ahead, crossed the dirt road in three strides, and re-entered vegetation without appearing to notice the vehicle. The witness reported the figure after it disappeared, but the crew drove on without stopping to investigate.

An investigator spoke to the witness by phone and recorded that the crossing lasted about four seconds.
The morning after the California sighting the investigator had a person walk the same path for scale, estimating the figure at at least eight feet tall.
