It lacked a horse or cow-like neck and elongated head, then fell back. The trailing officer saw no detail.

The witness was traveling west on the Empire Builder passenger train on a clear morning after it exited the Cascade Tunnel. From a sleeper compartment he briefly saw a very large black-haired figure standing on a steep forested slope above the tracks with one hand on a tree, appearing to watch the train pass. His wife was seated across from him facing the opposite direction and did not see the figure. He estimated the figure at 8 to 9 feet tall and about 400 pounds, but could not discern facial details in the two-second glimpse.

The witness looked over and saw the figure standing very close to the vehicle for about three seconds as they passed.
