The witness was up late doing laundry at home when she glanced at an open window and saw the head, shoulders and upper back of a tall hairy figure walking past. The window was about six feet off the ground, leading to an initial height estimate of about seven feet, later revised to about eight feet after the window was measured. The figure reportedly bumped against the house as it passed.

A large white entity surfaced, swam across the lake, exited on the far side, and walked up the bank into woods bordering a river. They did not compare notes until about half a mile later, when they found all three had seen the same thing. The witness slowed and both looked into the woods but saw nothing further.

In early November 1989 the witness and a relative returned after dark with a lantern to track a deer shot earlier with a bow. When the blood trail stopped they heard heavy bipedal footsteps pacing, saw a very large dark outline, and heard a guttural warning sound. Feeling threatened, they backed out while the witness held a handgun, and a next-morning search found neither deer nor tracks.
