The witness was up late doing laundry at home when she glanced at an open window and saw the head, shoulders and upper back of a tall hairy figure walking past. The window was about six feet off the ground, leading to an initial height estimate of about seven feet, later revised to about eight feet after the window was measured. The figure reportedly bumped against the house as it passed.
