A group camping above a swollen river heard mumbling voices and stick-breaking approaching, followed by loud chanting, shouting and stomping that shook a log seat and was taken as a demand to leave. The sounds stopped after deep hooted calls and later receded to distant screams up the valley and across the mountain. Later, while in a tent, the witness saw the firelight blocked by a squatting silhouette that touched the zipper with five digits, with felt breath and strong odor, before withdrawing. In the morning the witness noted hairs and deep depressions on the trail.

The witness and a relative were camping and had just built a fire when they heard a scream from a ridge. After firing a shotgun into the air, they saw the moonlit outline of an upright human-like figure running toward the water's edge while making an unfamiliar howling sound. They also noticed something that looked like a large footprint but were unsure about it.

Shortly after dinner the witness watched from a campfire as an upright hairy animal appeared on a ridgeline about 120 yards away. After other family members were called over, the animal looked toward them, moved uphill with very long strides, violently shook a small fir tree with one hand, then went over the ridge and out of sight. The whole sighting lasted 30 to 40 seconds, and a later search of the area found no tracks.

Looking for what spooked the deer, the witness saw a large black biped moving parallel to a meadow that increased its stride upon noticing them. The witness was driving at night near a railroad crossing when he noticed a very large, light-colored, hair-covered creature walking along the road with its back toward him. As he drove closer and passed it, he screamed in terror while the creature continued walking without reacting. He stopped briefly at an intersection, feeling panicked and highly agitated, but did not look back at the creature's face.
