The figure appeared to turn toward him, then returned into the treeline. He later crossed to the spot and found no road, only uneven ground and a steep draw beyond.

After about 10 to 15 seconds it dropped behind the bridge out of view and was not seen again. The companion saw nothing, no traces were searched for or found, and the witness remained unsure the sighting was genuine.

Early one morning the witness was driving east on Highway 67 after stopping to pick up a newspaper. In the headlights a large black biped ran from the north side of the road across in front of the vehicle and up an incline to the south. The witness described it moving very fast on two legs and glancing back over a hunched shoulder while maintaining eye contact. The witness stated it did not look like a known four-legged animal and was left frightened.

After an accidental gunshot the shape was no longer on the rocks and was then seen walking away very fast with swinging arms. The two returned to camp and said little at the time.

A small hair-covered figure dropped from a branch, landed crouched without fully standing, then ran on two legs up a ravine. The witness estimated the whole event lasted about 30 seconds.

The witness was camping alone in a tall tent when something large approached at night. A tall shadow with broad shoulders was cast on the tent by an outside lantern. Large footprints and teeth marks were found the following morning.

As they approached, they saw a tall brown-haired creature with a manlike head and gorilla-like body kneeling at the base of the tree. The creature stood up and ran a short distance into thick mountain laurel upslope, and a foul musty odor was noticed.

Late at night the witness heard heavy bipedal steps climb a steep slope, stop, then run into the forest, sounds the companions also heard. About two hours later the group heard a single very loud scream that briefly silenced forest sounds. Around 2 or 3 AM a companion awoke to see a large arm reaching through the van window for food, and food was found missing and spilled, with gouges seen on the slope the next morning.
