The witness and a companion were finishing a dispersed camping trip and had hiked back to the car on a clear sunny day when the witness looked back at the treeline. About 500 feet away, two jet-black figures were visible near the tops of two adjacent pine trees, first taken for bears. The witness took phone photos and watched for about a minute as the figures stayed mostly still while wiggling and appearing to hug the trunks, then left after the companion grew concerned, later concluding they looked like lean human-like silhouettes rather than bears or humans.

The witness returned on a Sunday afternoon to a wooded creek confluence where large tracks had been found days earlier. While approaching, something large moved alongside through the woods breaking branches, and the witness found large footprints including a tiny print in one heel. The witness then heard a large splash in the creek followed by paired guttural growls that stopped after the witness whooped, and later described seeing a large hairy figure peeking from behind a tree across the creek.

A group of five hiked an old closed ridge road around midnight under moonlight. After the leader produced knocks, responsive knocking came from timber about 50 feet away where a shadowy figure was seen, and the leader exchanged sounds with it. As the group hiked back to their cars they were flanked with glowing eyes, vocalizations and rustling.

The witness was driving home at night and turned onto a rural road when a large dark figure was seen standing in roadside brush. When high beams were switched on, the figure dropped low and ran away into the woods on the left side. The location was within a few feet of a previous daylight road-crossing the witness reported with his mother.

A family of four driving through Geneva State Park in daylight stopped after noticing a large dark bipedal figure moving through snowy woods. The figure was watched briefly for about ten seconds before disappearing. Shortly after from a nearby parking lot the adults made whoop calls and heard replies described as whoops, a scream or growl, and wood knocks, while also noticing a strong unpleasant odor.

On the night of Jan. 13, 2014, the witness spotlighted a distant field from home and saw red eye shine that reacted to the light. After retrieving a relative, the two drove to a pond with tall reeds about 300 yards away and again picked up eye shine high in the reeds. They watched the eyes blink and move low through a creek embankment from left to right, but could see no body because of distance. The witness recorded about a minute of phone video and estimated eye height the next day at 7.5 to 8 feet based on reed height.

While driving on a road that follows a river on a hot day, the witness noticed a large cinnamon-colored animal standing on all fours in the shallow water at a distance. He could not see its head because of distance and overhanging branches. He first thought it was a bear but noted the fur looked unusually long and shaggy, obscuring where legs met body. He did not stop for a closer look and judged it at least as large as local bears he had seen.

The witness was driving on a rural road in the evening when a large dark hairy quadruped resembling a bear was seen standing in a field beside the car. The animal reportedly kicked a back leg, turned to look at the witness, and remained standing. The witness later returned with a camera and photographed footprints in the snow, and noted a dead deer carcass nearby.

On November 2, 2013 around 4:45 p.m., the wife was closing the barn doors when she noticed movement downhill. She observed a tall hair-covered creature standing about 110 feet away facing her, which then turned and bounded down the steep slope out of sight. Strides in the leaf litter where it fled were later measured at 6 to 7 feet.

The witness was hiking in a preserve in the morning to photograph wildlife when he heard a noise and saw a large dark figure to his left. He watched it walk upright at a fast, purposeful pace across the trail and into palmettos, then heard it moving away as birds and insects fell silent. He searched for tracks or hair but found none, photographing only the crossing location for scale.

Around 1:55 a.m. the witness stepped outside to smoke and heard the chain-link fence rattle and brush breaking. Under a nearby security light she saw a large hairy creature straddling the fence; it turned, made eye contact, then swung its leg back over and dropped into the woods. She woke her daughter and both heard movement and smelled a foul odor, later finding the fence top bent and branches broken.

The witness was night fishing from a dock when an otter nearby suddenly fled. The witness then saw a large grey shape move quickly and silently between cover, followed by a large splash near the dock. Frightened, the witness left immediately and found large four-toed footprints on a return visit the next day.

Two cousins were gold panning and exploring a forested ridge road when one spotted a large hair-covered biped across the valley in a clearing. They watched for at least 20 minutes as it sat upright on a log, stood, looked toward them, turned side to side, took steps, and held an object in one hand. Both describe themselves as experienced hunters and state it was not a bear.

The witness and a relative were night fishing across a creek from a short bluff when they heard crashing coming down the hill. They shone a spotlight and saw a large hairy figure crouched at the shoreline, then heard a second crashing nearby. The first figure entered the creek and stood in deep water up to its rib cage while they watched, after which both people fled without looking back.

The witness was making coffee at about 3 a.m. when she saw widely spaced large yellow eyes looking through a window, with a dark width blocking the outside light and shifting side to side. She backed away and waited in the dark until daylight while a rank skunk-like odor entered the house. After daylight, she and a relative found a strong odor in the yard, vegetation matted and crushed under the window, and squirrel corn missing.

In mid-May 2013 at early dusk, the witness stopped on a remote dirt road to photograph horses. After putting the car in gear she saw a large dark bipedal figure leap from a hillside across the road into a ravine in under ten seconds. She drove to the crossing point but saw nothing further and later noted the fence there was bent.

The witness, a vendor at a weekend event in a state park, went out early the next morning to check the spot where a fisherman claimed an encounter. While walking a trail at sunrise, the witness heard talking-like sounds from a ridge and then saw two large black hairy figures. The figures walked quickly away along the ridge and into brush despite attempts to follow, and the witness took a cell-phone photo of one looking back.
