A group of about ten young campers spent Memorial weekend at a secluded forest clearing. After earlier strange sounds and a brief sighting, one camper encountered a tall bipedal figure near the camp bathroom area and alerted the group. Several campers armed themselves, moved children into a vehicle, fired warning shots, and pursued the figure toward a nearby friends camp where they reported being circled by three tall dark-furred bipeds. The following mornings the group reported handprints on vehicles, footprints, nests, and broken-tree crosses and teepee structures around both camps.

The witness was sitting on a rock in a high basin while hiking when they saw a large brown biped try to climb a snow cornice, fail, climb down, and walk briskly north out of view, then later reappear walking south above the cornice. About 45 minutes later the witness returned to the spot with another hiker and found handprints and footprints in the snow and photographed them. No further sighting occurred after traversing the difficult slope.

In early April 2006 around 2:30 a.m., the witness was inside his trailer when he saw a hairy figure staring through a nearby window. When he tried to shut his front door, something held it open against his push. She saw a large fur-covered creature on its knees drinking, which then stood up very tall and stepped over a stump. For six to eight months an elderly farmer and his wife reported nightly tapping that followed them room to room, shadows outside windows, a barn door torn open, missing dog food and missing outdoor dogs, and a low voice whispering the indoor dog's name. The responding deputy initially suspected neighbors, moonshiners or a grow operation, but later found a large hand-like dent in the house and an 18-inch footprint in the creek that he cast. The cast was later reported to show dermal ridges and to be considered authentic east of the Mississippi.

They retreated to a bedroom without curtains where they heard breathing and scratching and saw a hairy hand against the window screen. The companion fired two shots that missed, and the figure ran away. A sheriff who responded found bullet holes but no blood or footprints.

About a week after the first sighting, gunshots were heard from the nearby horse stable. The witness rode over and learned a large creature had grabbed a wild horse from behind. The horse kicked free, jumped the corral, and fled while the rancher shot at the creature. Next day the horse showed hand-like pressure marks, not claw scratches, on its hindquarters.

The witness and an older sister rode bikes along a road beside a dense wooded lot. They stopped after noticing a dark stump-like shape in the middle of the lot and, when wind moved long hair, realized it was a large hairy figure sitting cross-legged apparently asleep. They described a flat apelike face and long limbs and fled quickly to their house where they told a parent. They said they avoided the road and thicket afterward.

The witness's brother spent the night alone in a camper parked in the driveway. Around 1:30 a.m. he watched a shadow move across the curtained window and translucent roof, apparently cast by a neighbor's porch light, as something slowly circled the camper while lightly tapping its sides. The next morning the family found fingerprint smudges, a large handprint, and large toeprints in spilled sand.

The witness and a date were parked in a car in the woods on a fall evening when the car shook and a huge face appeared at the driver window at very close range. After starting the car and turning on headlights, they saw the animal on all fours on the passenger side apparently avoiding the light, then dash about 35 feet in front of the car into the woods where it stood up. The creature was described as over 7 feet tall, brown, fast-moving, and left muddy handprints and scratches on the car before the witnesses left for town.
