The witness was camping with two friends and walked alone to sit by a creek circling the camp. Across the creek he heard movement, then turned on a flashlight and saw a large hairy creature that fled into brush, shaking trees. After retreating about 30 yards it emitted a loud growling snarl, and the witness ran back to camp in panic.

The next night near dumpsters by the river, the group heard angry gorilla-like grunting and recorded the last 30 seconds as the East Central Ohio Bigfoot Chatter. The guest listened with a bionic ear as a bipedal creature climbed a steep bank and watched from behind a tree for about 20 minutes with faint reddish-orange eyeshine.

During a week camped with a companion, the witnesses heard many knocks and a full scream about 50 feet away just after a recorder shut off. A couple nights later they heard branches breaking approaching camp and the witness watched a soft blue ball of light move through trees and light them from close range. Late at night the witness stepped onto the porch for a smoke and heard an unfamiliar terrifying vocalization. Shining a light, the witness saw the silhouette of a tall bipedal figure near the pond that stood up and ran off, with vocalizations continuing fainter into the distance. A relative living in the house came outside and heard the final vocalization and a distant gunshot, and another relative later arrived to find the area empty.

A team of four was conducting a nighttime sound survey from a clear-cut overlooking a river valley while one member did a live radio interview from a parked vehicle near the treeline. The interviewer heard repeated charging sounds, footfalls and a grunt-growl from dense brush a few feet away while two teammates uphill watched with a night-vision device. The uphill observers reported a huge 8-foot-plus figure about 25 feet away leaning side to side to look through the trees and moving its arms. The episode lasted about 30 minutes, followed later by a distant scream, and a next-day search found disturbed soil but no footprints.

On the night of August 30 the witness was camping when his dog wandered from the campsite making strange noises and a figure taller than the witness with a visible silhouette and eyes kept moving toward him, reportedly walking upright. The frightened witness fled to a nearby convenience store and called 911 at 10:54 pm. No formal police report was filed because the witness would not return to the campsite with an officer.

While camping and fishing at a remote lake, the witness was alerted by a companion to a possible animal on the hillside. The witness then saw a creature stand from behind a bush about 75 yards away, stare briefly, and dart into the woods. Minutes later it reappeared higher on the steep hillside, ran across openings, jumped a ravine, and walked behind a knoll, while the witness's wife videotaped about 22 seconds.

In 1980 two men claiming to be Smithsonian field agents visited the grandmother's farm for two days after magazine coverage. They toured the garden and orchard, noted twisted limbs, cast footprints and a supposed sitting impression, collected hair and produce, and recorded audio. At night the family showed them figures with a spotlight, with up to three seen, and the visitors played a scream recording that was followed by distant chatter.

Two companions on their way to school in the morning saw two pale human-like figures standing at the edge of woods on a hill. The figures smelled like skunks and then wandered back into the woods. The witnesses estimated the figures' height against a tree limb and later reported finding nest-like structures nearby.

A former law enforcement officer told two missionaries that in 1971 he took part in an agency-directed helicopter operation to kill Sasquatch living in a canyon in the Dakotas. Two smaller helicopters drove the animals while his crew photographed a female and a youngster from the air, recorded audio, then shot the youngster in the head and shot the female point-blank in the chest from a rope ladder. The female screamed and fled up the canyon with an unknown fate, while the youngster's body was bagged, netted under a helicopter and flown out. The officer said he kept the photos and cassette hidden and had told no one else.

From helicopters, crews pushed creatures out of a canyon toward a bait station, photographed them, and shot a female and her young. In the 1970s in Pennsylvania a landed or hovering orb was approached by a man and two neighbor kids who then saw two Bigfoot-like beings along a fence. Shots with tracer rounds had no effect. Police called investigator [name withheld], and the adult witness reportedly became possessed, howling in another voice, an episode said to be cassette-recorded.

Over about four years residents moved discarded tires together, chained and painted them, and hung them, provoking tire-throwing, growling, and nighttime visits. Videos via direct camera and mirror captured a fence jump, two large figures wrestling over tires, and a much taller figure dispersing them. The witness and his partner parked in a refuge at night and made vocal calls. Heavy footsteps approached the van and a dark figure was seen through reeds. After leaving and returning, whoop calls were exchanged. The partner declined to return after that.

A family living at the same location for years reported objects moved, repeated prowler calls to the sheriff, and several sightings of large hairy bipeds. An 11-year-old grandson was frightened by a huge brown figure near the property and for a time would not walk between houses after sunset alone. The investigator found hand-sized dents on a trailer and recorded house knocks during a three-night audio session.

He held a pistol, heard a voice telling him to kick his legs, did so, and the group left chirping. Urine, prints and handprints were found.
