A couple hiking to a cabin at Government Meadows surprised three large hairy bipeds behind the cabin. The subjects moved quickly from right to left, with a smaller adult carrying a juvenile on its back, then disappeared behind terrain. The witnesses approached the area, found a large print, and recorded video of their reaction afterward.

During a daytime rock-hunting outing, the witness and her younger sister walked down a trail past a creek. Something charged toward them from a wooded hill, crashing through vegetation while emitting a terrifying howl/growl, and the witness glimpsed a black figure. Both girls fled back to their group in tears and left the area immediately.

The witness then saw a large dark figure standing by a tree about 40 feet away, later observed walking upright with bare lower legs and no visible clothing. After midnight while driving west toward Elbe, the witness saw a large hairy figure cross the highway ahead and enter fir trees. As the car closed the distance, the figure stepped onto the grass and pushed a fir bough from its face, showing a gorilla-like ear. The witness braked and turned toward the trees but the car stalled and the adult passenger became upset, so the witness left and returned the next day to look for sign.

They stared at each other for nearly a minute before the witness heard children approaching behind him, turned to warn his partner to move the kids away, and lost sight of the figure.

Two companions on their way to school in the morning saw two pale human-like figures standing at the edge of woods on a hill. The figures smelled like skunks and then wandered back into the woods. The witnesses estimated the figures' height against a tree limb and later reported finding nest-like structures nearby.

In October 1970, a teenager watching television indoors glanced toward a large picture window and reported a tall grey hair-covered figure standing very close outside staring in. The figure remained motionless while staring directly, with massive arms, reddish glowing eyes, and visible breathing. After the witness fled to another room, the figure was gone.
Youths in Summer Camp have noisy nighttime experience
The witness was sleeping in a cabin during a summer camp session when loud nighttime noises caused an uproar. A cabin-mate reportedly looked out and described multiple large, hairy, human-like figures near the water tower and cabins. The next morning the witness saw extensive human-like footprints, a large uprooted tree, and vegetation pulled from the lake. Campers were walked around the perimeter to view the traces and were sent home early.
