While driving to work in the morning, the witness saw a dark object on the road she first thought was an ATV. As she got closer it moved off the road into the ditch, then stood up from a bent-over position, lifted a leg over a log, and disappeared into the forest. Her husband later checked the crossing spot for tracks but dense pine needles and leaf litter prevented finding any sign.
Two young men have a surprise backyard encounter while watching a meteor shower south of Jasper
The witness and a companion were playing darts and watching meteors from a relative's yard at night. A roughly five-foot-tall hairy biped jogged across the lit front yard, paused to look at them for a few seconds, then sprinted rapidly into darkness. Both witnesses reported seeing it, while the resident relative did not.

Two children sitting on a relative's porch at midday watched a large hair-covered biped run out of the woods and across a field. It looked toward them briefly, cleared a barbed-wire fence with ease, then vanished behind a pond into the trees while dipping to miss a branch. The pair rushed indoors to tell adults, who told them it was likely a bear.
