The witness was night fishing from a dock when an otter nearby suddenly fled. The witness then saw a large grey shape move quickly and silently between cover, followed by a large splash near the dock. Frightened, the witness left immediately and found large four-toed footprints on a return visit the next day.

The witness drove into a bottom field at night to look for raccoons and swept the treeline with truck headlights. At about 75 yards he saw a large dark figure walk through the field toward the creek, pause to stare at him, then stride quickly into the woods. The witness and a companion walked down an old logging road in the early afternoon the day after hearing a knock in the same area. The witness noticed a large dark figure standing partly behind a tree a couple hundred yards away, apparently watching them. When they looked again moments later it was gone, and feeling uneasy they returned to the truck and left.
