Daytime sighting while traveling on US-7 North of Williamstown
A couple traveling north in a motor home on Route 7 near the Vermont state line claimed a daytime sighting. The wife, a front-seat passenger, spotted a very tall black upright figure in an open grassy field west of the highway. She watched for about four to five seconds as it walked steadily north toward a treeline, about 50 yards from the road edge. Both occupants said they were mystified about what the animal could have been.
Homeowner sees red eyeshine and hears wood knocks in woods near Becket
The witness was on the back porch at night when a noise was heard moving in the wooded hillside. The witness shone a flashlight into the woods and saw reddish eyeshine staring back for about 20 seconds, during which it blinked. The animal then turned and walked away uphill deeper into the woods, and the witness later measured a reference tree to estimate the eye height at about 7 feet.
Creature seen moving stones and small pieces of wood
The witness was hiking alone on a wooded mountain trail in summer when they noticed a moving, fur-covered animal about 100 yards ahead. Using binoculars and moving closer downwind, they watched it forage, move stones and wood, and stack rocks, noting its tall massive body, reddish fur, long arms, large human-like hands, and dark human-like face. The animal eventually moved back into the forest and the frightened witness ran back to the trail.
