Campers startled by large figure behind their site
The witness was camping with two companions on a wooded hillside when the companions left the tent site to gather firewood. About 30 feet away both companions saw a very large dark hairy upright figure step from behind a tree and disappear quickly into the woods. They screamed and ran back in panic, and the group stayed camped through heavy rain that evening.

Two occupants of a five-person vehicle reported seeing a brown upright figure beside a wooded road while driving back from fishing. The figure was described as dropping straight down to a crouch behind bushes as the vehicle passed. The view lasted only a split second and the group did not turn back to investigate.

Nothing was noticed at the time, but months later during tape review the witness saw a small figure moving downhill through trees on the far bank. The witness and a companion were resupplying a bear bait site on foot when they heard branches breaking upslope and saw a piece of tree fall. About 400 yards away on a ledge they saw a tall dark bipedal figure leaning against a broken tree. The witness watched it for 15-20 seconds before it stepped quickly into the treeline, and noticed a rancid odor near the bait site.

The witness was driving alone at night in rain and patchy fog when the headlights revealed a large four-footed animal off the road. The animal turned its head to look toward the lights and then lumbered toward the treeline while being watched for only seconds. The witness first thought of a huge dog or lion-like animal but later concluded it resembled a Gigantopithecus-like creature.

The witness was walking back from the mailbox in the afternoon when she heard deep man-like grunts and thumping from a brush thicket beside the driveway. She saw part of a large reddish-brown fur-covered animal, hunched over and rubbing or pounding its head or shoulders on trees. When she moved to get a better view, the animal ran toward her growling with heavy footfalls, and she fled to the house as it hit downed trees and stopped at the brush edge.

The witness was driving past a marshy wetland area beside a highway during morning rush hour and peered into the woods and fields. About 200-250 yards away near a creek, the witness saw a dark upright human-like silhouette standing motionless for 4-5 seconds, apparently looking down. Unable to discern fine detail, the witness could not rule out a tree trunk or person, but on revisiting the spot on later days the shape was gone.

The witness then saw a long reddish-haired creature squatting motionless near the corner of the house without looking toward them. The witness ran inside to get family members, but by the time they came outside the creature was gone although the strong odor still filled the yard.

The witness was kayaking ahead of a companion on a narrow river on a cool clear morning when a thick musty odor hit. The witness then saw a wide mass of long shiny fur rise near the bank and run away through dense woods, snapping small trees. The odor lingered so strongly the witness held breath and paddled away for fresh air.

The witness was home alone in the evening when something struck the locked front door hard. She heard a low grunting or growling sound and then saw a pair of slanted eyes and a hairy head staring at her from a few feet away in the dark. She watched the motionless figure for an estimated ten minutes. Police arrived hours later on foot and found nothing.

The witness was horseback riding on a pine-forest trail with her mother when her horse tensed and bolted. She turned and saw a tall, dark, upright figure behind a log that then ran toward a field. Both horses galloped uncontrolled back toward camp, leaving the riders shaken. She estimated the figure at 7-8 feet and said its proportions did not look human.

The figure stayed behind the tree without moving and was seen only for a few seconds as she drove past.

After a brief check with a night-vision scope that revealed nothing, the witness looked again and saw the upper portion of a tall, hairy, human-like figure walking toward the creek past tall berry bushes. The figure was backlit by a neighboring porch light, showing a large rounded head on very large rounded shoulders with little neck.

The witness was driving slowly westbound on I-84 in fog and snow when they passed a large, dark, shaggy creature sitting or leaning against the guardrail beside the lane. The creature appeared to watch traffic pass, turning its head from side to side, with snow streaked on its long hair or fur-like coat. The witness saw no stalled vehicles or reason for a person to be in that isolated, steep, cold location and later wondered if it could have been Sasquatch.

Two deer hunters walking a creek bottom heard movement paralleling them on a deer trail, then saw a figure moving bipedally through the woods about 60 yards away. They watched it cross the creek, climb the banks, and run along a power line into pines where the sounds eventually stopped. They tried to backtrack it but lost sign beyond a farm pond.

In patchy fog near wooded roadside, she noticed a tall dark furry figure standing at the edge of the woods beside a group of trees. She estimated it was about seven feet tall and believed it was not human because of its size. Frightened, she continued driving without stopping for a closer look.

Near a forested area, something very large and fast ran out in front of the witness on two legs, with one hand held forward and apparently carrying something in the other. Conditions were very dark with light fog and drizzle.

While hunting deer alone in the morning, the witness heard repeated sounds like logs or poles being thrown, then found a tree with bark removed, a large packed bed, a human-like track, and unfamiliar scat. After glimpsing brown fur duck behind a log, the witness heard an extremely loud low roar-like yell from behind with crashing, then heard crashing and throwing sounds staying out of sight while leaving for about 200 yards. No full animal was clearly seen.

While camping alone in a tent on a hunting trip, the witness heard unidentified calls over about an hour and later was awakened by movement and shaking of the tent. The witness noticed the tent had been lifted and saw a shadow pass by, then illuminated a large dark human-like figure about 20 yards away that turned and ran into the brush. The witness kept lights on until sunrise and packed up and left the next morning.
Possible ongoing activty in a rural community near Chance
The witness claims to have seen a single dark biped twice, in 1992 and 2002, at the same bridge on a highway in the Chance, Alabama area. The creature was described as about nine feet tall with very wide shoulders and crossed the road in about three strides. The sightings are said to have occurred at dusk on clear nights.
