The witness stopped, turned off the vehicle, and listened briefly to heavy crashing footsteps receding into the woods before driving on and noticing a nearby campfire gathering.

A hunter left his stand in the morning to help search for a wounded deer and joined a companion who had spotted an upright hairy animal in a tree. The witness observed the animal standing in a fork through a rifle scope, noting reddish hair, bare facial skin and long arms, before it disappeared as they approached. They found heavy heel impressions and a strong odor at the site and later watched two distant figures moving in trees.

Late at night in October 2004 the witness was riding as a passenger on a southbound highway toward Springfield, Illinois, with a companion driving. At the roadside in the headlight beams they first mistook a crouched figure for dumped trash, then saw it rise upright and step back. They observed it standing fully illuminated for a few seconds as they passed closely, and both occupants exclaimed that it was Bigfoot.

He turned and saw a tall reddish-brown biped run upright into virgin woods and disappear within seconds. A professional driver was driving an empty bus eastbound on U.S. Highway 160 near Mancos, between Cortez and Durango, shortly after sunset. About 150 yards ahead, the witness saw a large, entirely dark, muscular figure on two legs dash rapidly across the road from south to north in two to three seconds. When the witness reached the crossing point, thick woods on both sides hid any further trace, and a second driver traveling behind did not see the crossing.

While hunting elk at dusk, the witness and a companion climbed out of a draw and surprised a tall black hair-covered creature about 30 feet away. The creature made a loud whoof sound as it moved into a small stand of pines, displacing a bough. After the pair backed away, it gave a low guttural growl ending with teeth clicking, frightening them enough to leave.

While waiting on a narrow high-elevation trail for other climbers to pass, the witness and four companions watched a hair-covered biped move rapidly across a steep shale bowl toward vegetation. The creature alternated between running upright and moving on all fours over boulders. After about two minutes it disappeared into dense vegetation and was not approached due to climbing conditions.

The witness was outside feeding horses at home in the afternoon when a tall, very hairy figure was seen from behind. The figure ran very fast across a pasture, jumped a wide creek, and continued up a hill into woods to the north. The witness watched from about 200 feet away and never saw the face, and never saw the figure again.

A passenger in the back seat saw the figure only as it entered the brush. The front-seat witnesses described uniform coloration, very big running strides, and a forward-hunched posture, and said it never looked toward them.

The witness was driving east on Highway 138 near Cascade Summit Pass in the early evening. About 50 yards ahead, a large very dark humanoid figure emerged from the woods and crossed the roadway to the south with long, fast strides. It disappeared into the woods before the witness reached the spot and appeared dark from head to foot.
