The witness and her father were walking back to the trailhead parking area at night when the father noticed eyeshine in the trees to the side of the trail about 30-40 feet away. With headlamps on, they both observed shining eyes and the outline of a rounded head that turned to look at them before they turned their lights off. The figure then walked away downhill with heavy deliberate bipedal steps, paused, and remained nearby while the witness spoke softly before they left quietly. After returning home they photographed smudge marks on their vehicle that had not been noticed earlier.

The witness was hunting deer in a river basin in the evening when he heard brush breaking and later saw movement in trees about 80-90 yards away. A woman driving in the afternoon reported a very large hairy creature emerging from a ditch beside the highway. It crossed the road in front of her car, stepped over a guardrail easily, and walked into nearby timber. The animal was described as tall and powerfully built, walking at a normal pace without acknowledging the vehicle.

The witness was driving west on a highway in the afternoon when he noticed a stationary stocky figure covered in reddish long hair standing beyond a fallow field in front of woods. He saw only the upper body and head for about three seconds before a bank and foliage blocked the view. His companion was asleep and saw nothing, and he was unable to stop or return to the location.

The witness was riding at the back of a large group of ATVs at night through a muddy, wooded trail. As he approached a large tree, he made eye contact with a tall, muscular, hair-covered figure pressed flat against the tree with its hands on the trunk. After a stare lasting about 15 seconds, the witness rode past within a few feet, looked back, and saw the figure take one quick step and disappear into the darkness.

The witness was jogging north on a prairie trail in daylight when they saw a large furry figure walking ahead with its back to them. As they approached, the figure looked larger and hair-covered, then went around a bend near a stream and retention pond. The witness continued ahead but found no one on the trail, and on the return looked into a dark opening by a fence near the water before leaving.

After noticing a strong rotten-egg and wet-dog odor, the witness saw a large dark hair-covered figure standing by a palm 300-500 yards away and facing the road. The view lasted only a few seconds before roadside trees blocked it. After turning around and returning, the figure was gone but a strange smell lingered.
Family vacationing in Pigeon Forge has two sightings on two consecutive nights driving down a mountain road
A family driving back to their mountain cabin at night rounded a turn and saw a tall, dark-haired biped walking on the roadside. All four family members watched it take several strides on the pavement before it left the shoulder and went down toward a creek without acknowledging them. The parents had glimpsed a similar figure in nearly the same spot the previous night. The next day the family found slide marks and a broken branch near the creek and learned another family had also seen the creature.

After rounding a bend, the witness saw a tall, dark-brown, long-haired bipedal animal running away through the forest for about 10-15 seconds. At dusk the witness heard a weed-eater-like whirling sound from the woods behind the backyard and walked back to investigate. He saw a dark figure sitting with its back to him that stood up, gathered something to its chest, and quickly left into the woods. He described the figure as female, about six feet tall, about 30 yards away.
Motorists see an ape run across Hwy 26 near dusk outside of Rhododendron
Two companions were driving west on Highway 26 after a fishing trip when they slowed near stopped cars. An ape-like creature sprang from the woods very close to their car and ran behind it across the road from north to south, moving on its knuckles with unusual quickness and nearly being hit by a following car. Other stopped drivers honked during the crossing.

In the morning the witness looked from a second-floor cabin window and saw a large brown furry figure cross a sunlit clearing behind the cabin in three long strides. The figure briefly turned its dark gray flat face toward the witness before re-entering the forest and descending toward a creek, with only the head briefly reappearing.
