Daytime sighting behind a cabin near Westport
Account
In the morning the witness looked from a second-floor cabin window and saw a large brown furry figure cross a sunlit clearing behind the cabin in three long strides. The figure briefly turned its dark gray flat face toward the witness before re-entering the forest and descending toward a creek, with only the head briefly reappearing.

Investigators camped overnight on the property and deployed a thermal imager and trail camera, but heavy rain interfered.
A second follow-up visit was scheduled for the spring of 2009.
