The witness and a companion were driving home from a late-night shopping trip when their headlights revealed an animal in the road ahead. They watched it move on two legs in a sideways manner from one side of the road to the other while looking toward their vehicle, then disappear into a field. They slowed to look into the field but saw no further sign of it and later concluded it must have lain down in the grass.

Late at night the witness was fishing from a pier in his backyard when he heard noises from a nearby canal. He approached and came face to face at about 15 feet with a large hairy ape-like figure standing behind a palm tree. The figure moved agitatedly and made grunting noises, then retreated toward nearby railroad tracks as the witness went inside.

Two people staying at a mountain cabin watched a large black upright animal move from near a river across a road and uphill toward an aspen grove over about two minutes, using binoculars for part of the observation. The animal turned toward a passing truck, then moved away with longer strides while looking back. Afterwards the witnesses went to the grove and found and measured a large five-toed footprint, but snow prevented further tracking.

From beside the truck she watched a furry reddish figure stand upright, tip its head back as if sniffing, stare at her, then bend to pick up a small object and run bipedally across a meadow toward the treeline. The creature stood upright to about cab height, growled audibly over the diesel engine, then ran bipedally across the road into a treeline at remarkable speed. The witness remained on site to work for about an hour, feeling frightened and alert for its return.

The witness was traveling west on the Empire Builder passenger train on a clear morning after it exited the Cascade Tunnel. From a sleeper compartment he briefly saw a very large black-haired figure standing on a steep forested slope above the tracks with one hand on a tree, appearing to watch the train pass. His wife was seated across from him facing the opposite direction and did not see the figure. He estimated the figure at 8 to 9 feet tall and about 400 pounds, but could not discern facial details in the two-second glimpse.

The witness was driving northbound on a highway at night with a companion when the companion noticed a large hair-covered figure standing up from a crouch beside the road. The witness looked over and saw the figure standing very close to the vehicle for about three seconds as they passed. They returned to the location shortly afterward but saw nothing and then contacted emergency dispatch.

A couple driving toward Sacramento on Highway 50 at night saw a tall hairy figure standing in a pullout on the north side of the road. The figure was illuminated by high beams from about 20 to 30 feet away and appeared to be watching traffic. The viewing lasted only a few seconds at highway speed, and both occupants described a very large, thick, dark brown to black figure.

The witness was checking a corn pile behind his home when he came upon a tall hairy creature eating corn. The creature was first seen sitting with its back to him, then stood and faced him from about 25 yards away. After regarding him briefly it walked away into deeper woods. The sighting lasted about a minute in clear morning light.

Driving home on Auburn Drive in Fairbanks in July 2009 around 6 p.m., the witness noticed a figure standing by the roadside about 100 yards ahead. As the witness closed to about 50 yards the figure bolted into the woods toward the elementary school, ran away from the road then turned to run parallel to it before disappearing. The witness stopped at the entry point, later circled via side roads to the school parking lot to look into the woods, but did not see it again.

After watching briefly, the figure turned toward the witness, screamed for an extended period, and ran on two legs into the woods with visible arm swing while crashing through brush. The witness saw a massive dark-haired bipedal figure emerge from woods on one side and cross the highway to woods on the other side, moving slowly. Early one morning while preparing to leave a campground, a couple noticed a large figure standing outside their trailer's bedroom window peering in. The privacy glass showed only a shadowy chest, head and part of an arm, which the companion photographed. When the witness opened a distant door and turned on a light, the figure was gone but quick footsteps were heard leaving down a gravel road. After sunrise they found large footprint-like impressions in the gravel near the trailer.
