The witness drove slowly past within a few feet, then sped away feeling watched without looking back.

Immediately afterward a large upright creature ran along the roadside beside the van, apparently chasing the deer, and looked toward the vehicle before dropping back and disappearing out of the headlights. The witness turned around to recheck but saw nothing. A son in the back seat also saw the creature.

The two looked at each other briefly, the witness does not recall how it departed, and a foul smell followed back toward the truck. The next morning the witness recovered the hounds still treed with a bobcat.

The creature was described as about seven feet tall with broad shoulders and dark hair, watching her from at or partly behind a tree. After several seconds of eye contact it stepped behind the tree out of view.

A very large, hairy bipedal figure crossed an opening in the trees beside them, swinging its arms and moving slowly but covering distance in few steps. They compared its size to the six-foot son and estimated it would stand at least seven and a half feet tall, then searched and found no other people or vehicles nearby.
