After dogs in a hollow below barked then fell suddenly silent, the group heard movement in brush and saw a tall fur-covered figure stand at the hill edge making huffing sounds. When the driver turned on the car headlights the figure covered its face and moved behind trees as the group fled in the car.

The witness was up late doing laundry at home when she glanced at an open window and saw the head, shoulders and upper back of a tall hairy figure walking past. The window was about six feet off the ground, leading to an initial height estimate of about seven feet, later revised to about eight feet after the window was measured. Three people driving at night saw a hairy monkey-like figure crouched on a wooded hillside in their car headlights. They did not compare notes until about half a mile later, when they found all three had seen the same thing. They drove back to the spot but the figure was gone, and they left without entering the woods.

The witness, then a young teenager staying at a migrant apple-picking camp, stepped outside in the evening and saw a very large gray figure walking near a bare hill and orchard tree line toward the highway. The figure was described as thick, hunchbacked, and much taller than a man, moving unlike a man. The witness told no one at the time and now states a belief that such creatures exist.

Late at night the witness was reading in bed with the window open when the window screen flew into the middle of the room. The witness then saw a large hairy arm reaching in through the window. After freezing for a couple of minutes, the witness ran past the window to get help, and a parent found no one outside.
