The accompanying dog began growling and barking, and the witness saw a very large figure cross the road in about two steps and disappear into the woods about 30 yards away. When the witness walked toward the spot with the dog and a flashlight, the dog refused to advance, a strong musky smell was noticed, and cracking sounds in the vegetation moved toward them, prompting the witness to return to the car and drive away.

The guest and three companions visited the quarry caretaker and walked toward the quarry pond. After smelling a musky odor and finding a large nesting area, they saw a female creature sitting by a berry bush that stood and quickly left into the woods.
