Man experiences loud yells and tree-shaking while deer hunting near Ashville
The witness was hunting from a tree stand in the late afternoon when he heard very loud, unfamiliar yells from about 150-200 yards away. The yells repeated minutes later from apparently closer. He then watched a small sapling whip violently side to side for about a minute while surrounding grasses did not move similarly. Feeling uneasy as darkness approached, he climbed down and left the woods without ever seeing the source.
Mother and son experience multiple incidents in the Sautee-Nacoochee Valley
On a cool afternoon in February 2007, the witness and a companion hiked in the woods to look for clues about strange activity. They reported finding large human-like footprints, possible bedding areas, territorial tree markings, and a freshly fallen oak with bark that looked chewed and wet. While leaving the woods they reported being followed by something unseen that produced howls and other vocals, stick-beating sounds, continuing footsteps, and moving vegetation.

Late at night in bright moonlight the witness took his large dog out and noticed neighboring dogs go silent and his own dog freeze with raised hair. He then saw a wide dark silhouette at close range that instantly crashed through dense brush and covered about one hundred yards in five steps.

A Special Forces team training at Fort Lewis set up a patrol base and were repeatedly approached at night by unseen figures. They tracked larger barefoot prints, smelled rotten flesh and wet dog, and found a clearing with flattened brush and broken limbs high in trees. They withdrew to a road and flagged a truck for a ride, believing they had entered Sasquatch territory.

The witness was gathering firewood behind the house at night when whooping sounds were heard coming from dark woods about 100 yards away. Horses were heard bolting nearby and the witness's dog barked toward the woods while a faint zoo-like odor was smelled. The event lasted about one to two minutes and the witness felt watched without ever seeing the source.

Two friends camped deep along a river between mountains in winter with no one else around. Around midnight they heard a huge splash as something jumped into deep water and waded across toward them with bipedal splashes. It stopped at the bank in darkness for a long silent period, then circled the camp staying just beyond firelight before leaving up the hillside. They waited until sunrise without sleep and hiked out without checking for tracks.

The witness and a relative were elk hunting and following two blood trails in a steep ravine at dusk. After a wounded bull ran past the witness, a very loud angry howl or growl came from the wooded hill below. The witness and a companion were camping at an isolated lake over a long weekend. On Saturday morning they began hearing very loud guttural scream-growls that seemed to warn them away from certain areas, including the path to the lake, and the sounds continued into Sunday. Overnight they heard cooking gear clanging and a heavy thump like logs dumped beside their trailer, but in the morning the gear was largely in place and no logs were found, and the companion also reported a strong putrid smell.

A group of seven hikers were hiking on a mountain trail in the afternoon. They heard cackling, yelping, growling and moaning sounds and found the trail blocked by a large uprooted stump with placed boulders and smashed trees. Two upright figures, one black and one light brown and hairy, were seen moving parallel to the group and leaping down a cliff, while the group felt stalked and watched as they hurried out to the road.

The witness and two companions were deer hunting when they noted an absence of game and a feeling of being watched. Later near a dried marsh they found widely spaced tracks that turned and appeared to run toward cover, accompanied by a strong foul odor. They left the area for town and returned the next morning to photograph the tracks, when game had returned and the odor was gone.

The witness was bowhunting alone from a deer blind in the afternoon when gibberish-like hollering approached from behind the blind and grew closer. He looked with field glasses but saw nothing, then smelled a strong foul odor and felt intense fear. He left the blind with an arrow nocked and hurried toward his truck, hearing loud vocalizations paralleling him from the woods. He reached his truck and drove away without ever seeing the source.

The witness and a companion were scouting in a state forest when they noticed a strong foul odor. They saw an upright figure down a trail, watched it kneel in palmettos staring at them for many minutes, then saw it stand and cross the trail followed by a smaller similar figure into dense brush. They later found two footprints larger than the witness's foot.

They watched an apelike figure first on all fours that then sat for several minutes before standing on two legs, with two additional sets of eyeshine behind it. The group left to contact authorities, later noted a strong urine-like odor, received a distant bellowing reply to an imitated howl, and searched with a game warden until morning.

The witness was walking down a dirt road on company property in deep woods when he heard rustling in brush about thirty yards away and smelled a strong skunk-like odor. He did not see the source and first considered wild hogs before later considering something unidentified.

The witness and two companions explored a deforested and mined area with piled boulders and abandoned mine buildings. Over about an hour they heard tapping from the woods, running footfalls, crashing in brush, and other strange noises, while stones were reportedly thrown toward the companions. They also found many snapped trees and a very large mound of possible scat that a tossed rock sank into.

In July 2005 the witness woke at night in a prospecting camp and smelled wet fur. The witness then watched a large figure cross a creek about 20 feet away for about 10 minutes until it stepped behind a tree and disappeared after a truck bed light was switched on. On two nights after 10 p.m. the witness and her daughter saw a short grey slender shape dash behind trees and run toward cover near the river, followed once by a thud and high-pitched shrieks. The family also heard patterned rock clicks and nearby walking and breathing, and noticed a skunk-like odor. The family became frightened and packed to leave.

The witness was turning a dump truck and spreading stone on a remote camp road when he noticed an animal on a stone pile that stood on two legs and then vanished. After adjusting his chains and driving forward, he saw two upright, hairy animals pacing the truck in his mirror, with the larger one estimated at eight to nine feet tall. He was frightened and left the area quickly. He also noted a feeling of being watched and a nasty smell earlier while outside the truck.
