The witness then heard a deep growl followed by a loud progressive scream that seemed non-human and kept hearing vocalizations after going back inside. The next morning the witness found disturbed underbrush and broken branches but no footprints.

The witness was at a wooded church camp at night when a tall black-haired biped trotted across about 50 feet away for about seven seconds. The witness noted a dome-like head, very large shoulders, and long arms hanging straight down while the shoulders twisted with movement. About a minute later a strong foul odor was noticed, followed minutes later by a series of loud hoots. The next morning the witness found large human-like barefoot tracks in sand.

The witness was bow hunting for deer from a tree stand in the morning and then walked out through a dry lake/river bed. While walking below a brushy shelf, he heard grunting and growling from the tree line and observed trees being shaken. The unseen animal kept pace with him as he hurried away, and he never saw what made the sounds.

The witness was camping overnight with a scout troop at a small crescent-shaped lake. After the group settled around 10-11 p.m., a very loud two-part call was heard three or four times from brush in a draw at the north end of the lake, sounding more distant each time. Shortly before dark the witness had noticed a strong musty odor near camp, and the youths in camp reportedly also heard the calls.

In July 2006 the witness was biking through a swampy, wooded area toward a friend's house in the late afternoon. Near a knoll the witness heard sticks breaking and footsteps, then saw a tall dark figure to the side and heard a frightening vocalization. The witness screamed and pedaled away fast while continuing to hear breaking sticks, and the creature reportedly fled bipedally in the opposite direction during about ten seconds of observation.

A group hiking in Salt Fork State Park in the evening reported footprints, grunts and glimpsed movement. The main witness waited ahead with two younger companions and reported seeing a tall hairy biped peeking from behind a tree and then from behind a rock. The three companions ran back to their cabin and later said all three had seen the figure.
Man and son have encounter while setting off fireworks near Pottsboro
The witness and his teenage son rowed to an isolated wooded shore at night to set off fireworks while family watched from across the water. The witness heard loud huffing and grunting, crashing through brush, and smelled strong body odor approaching in the dense woods. He briefly saw a very large, wide, shaggy human-like silhouette between trees in his flashlight beam. He took his son and paddled away quickly, leaving chairs and fireworks equipment behind.

The witness visited a pine forest site three times in the early morning. On the first visit he heard heavy footsteps retreating, smelled a skunk-like odor, and saw a rock thrown into water. On later visits he heard loud repeated calls and low moans, heard footsteps approach to within about 15 feet without seeing the source, had a large stick thrown near him, left food and recorded vocalizations, and noted indistinct footprints and large broken trees.

The witness was hunting from a tree stand in the late afternoon when he heard very loud, unfamiliar yells from about 150-200 yards away. The yells repeated minutes later from apparently closer. He then watched a small sapling whip violently side to side for about a minute while surrounding grasses did not move similarly. Feeling uneasy as darkness approached, he climbed down and left the woods without ever seeing the source.

On a cool afternoon in February 2007, the witness and a companion hiked in the woods to look for clues about strange activity. They reported finding large human-like footprints, possible bedding areas, territorial tree markings, and a freshly fallen oak with bark that looked chewed and wet. While leaving the woods they reported being followed by something unseen that produced howls and other vocals, stick-beating sounds, continuing footsteps, and moving vegetation.

A group of seven hikers were hiking on a mountain trail in the afternoon. They heard cackling, yelping, growling and moaning sounds and found the trail blocked by a large uprooted stump with placed boulders and smashed trees. Two upright figures, one black and one light brown and hairy, were seen moving parallel to the group and leaping down a cliff, while the group felt stalked and watched as they hurried out to the road.

After two relatives reported a roadside figure, the witness joined them and an uncle in a van to spotlight nearby wheat fields the same night. They watched an apelike figure first on all fours that then sat for several minutes before standing on two legs, with two additional sets of eyeshine behind it. The group left to contact authorities, later noted a strong urine-like odor, received a distant bellowing reply to an imitated howl, and searched with a game warden until morning.

Two people were shining lights for alligators beside a lake at night when vegetation beside the dock shook and repeated knocking like wood hitting a tree was heard. A nearby tree then fell, and as they ran toward safety they heard heavy steps and grunting keeping pace parallel to them. About an hour later they returned and found a tall tree freshly snapped about eight feet up with dripping sap and a hair on a branch.

The witness got lost after dark on a misty rainy night in February while hunting in the bottoms and tried to follow a creek out. He shined a light and sensed bodies on both sides of the creek bed, followed by sudden commotion of leaves, heavy movement and breathy grunting. The sounds moved behind him about thirty feet and then stopped abruptly without fading into the distance, which he later interpreted as the same group of creatures.

Lost on a misty February night after deer hunting, the guest followed a creek bed with a flashlight and rifle to find his way out. He walked into commotion on both sides with heavy movement and breathy grunting that shifted behind him and stopped. He first told it as hogs but later believed it was a family group near his later sighting location.

The witness had been camping and fishing for several days and went upstream alone at first light. After feeling watched and noticing the woods go quiet, the witness saw brush and trees shaking but could not make out the source. Minutes later while heading back toward camp, the witness heard a guttural moan or cry from across the river and believed something followed downstream. The witness ran back to camp, injuring an ankle, and noted the behavior and sound differed from prior bear encounters.

They saw a large hair-covered creature near a mineral feeder that rose onto two legs, looked toward them, then walked upright toward a hay field while swinging its arms. The witness heard grunting and movement in nearby woods, then saw a large hair-covered biped rise from behind a fallen tree and retreat into the woods. The dog chased the creature while the witness ran home, and the dog returned later unharmed. A strong road-kill-like odor was noted around the time of the sighting.

The witness describes recurring strange noises around the family home shared with parents, including window banging, howls around dusk, growls, moans, grunts and rocks striking the house. The source was never seen, and indoor and outdoor dogs reportedly failed to react normally. A dank odor was also noted over several days. The witness drove to an abandoned homestead to take sunset photographs. While walking back to the truck through knee-deep snow he heard twigs snapping and footsteps running through thick woods alongside him. He ran to the truck, heard a deep elk-like grunt, and saw pines shaking with snow falling off as he left. He returned two weeks later and found snapped-off saplings.
