The witness was driving toward town in the morning when she noticed a large upright figure standing by the roadside. She slowed, maintained eye contact for several seconds as she passed within a short distance, and noticed a musty odor. After she passed, she saw in the mirror that the figure crossed the two-lane highway in two steps and disappeared into the woods.

The witness was driving home at night when the headlights illuminated a tall grayish-white upright figure starting to cross the highway. The witness stopped and watched it cross slowly from right to left, noting very long arms, a hunched posture, and a strong putrid odor through the open window. The figure glanced toward the vehicle and briefly raised an arm as if blocking the headlights before continuing across.

The witness claims they were sitting alone fishing on a riverbank in the early evening when they heard prolonged rustling and noticed a strong foul odor growing stronger. After about 10-15 minutes they turned to see a very tall, broad, dingy-brown hairy figure standing 20-30 yards away staring at them without moving or making sound. After a brief stare-down the witness dropped their fishing pole and ran about a half-mile to their car and drove home, and states they have never returned to the spot.

Two companions walking a hillside trail at night heard a loud snap and saw two large bipedal figures silhouetted against city lights. After one companion shouted, a second shorter figure stood up beside the taller slumped figure, and both fled on two legs crashing through small trees. The witnesses estimated the taller figure at 7.5 to 8 feet tall, hid at the fire tower overnight, and noted broken limbs and a sweet unpleasant odor in the area the next morning.

There they saw a large ape- or bear-like creature in a squatting position that made eye contact for about 30 seconds before jumping up an 8-foot bank and running away. The witness returned to camp, then revisited the site with a companion that evening and again the next morning, but flooding prevented finding footprints.

The witness and two companions snuck out on a 4-wheeler into woods behind a house on a snowy night. They noticed a dead-like odor and heard monkey-like chattering, then saw a tall hair-covered biped walk toward them while growling. The group fled on the vehicle and on foot as the animal followed to within arm's reach without touching them, apparently driving them from the area.

The witness saw two fur-covered bipedal creatures run across the path, jump a stream, and disappear. The pair fled to a road, got a ride back, and reported the sighting to a Scoutmaster who did not believe them.

Later that evening the group heard heavy walking and loud limb-snapping in the adjacent woods and noticed a dead-like smell. The guest and friends stayed midweek at a remote cabin near Osage Beach in August. At night the group had wood chunks and pebbles thrown at them and heard loud whooping, and companions heard splashing while night fishing. The next morning companions reported a hairy bear-like figure by fish guts, the woodpile was toppled, and a beaver dam was found destroyed with a pulled-apart carcass. While squirrel hunting along the creek the guest and his companion watched a five-foot ape-like creature wading and looking in the water, which approached his companion then left after clicking sounds were exchanged with another unseen individual.

As they drifted to within about 50 feet it stood on two legs, noticed them, and walked into the nearby woods. After it disappeared they heard trees being knocked down for about a minute and noticed a wet musky odor.

The figure watched the witness, matched movements, and approached, then chased the witness who fled to a farmhouse porch. The creature eventually left toward the pasture with farm dogs chasing it, and the witness hid until a companion arrived.

The witness fled toward a nearby farmhouse, fired a rifle shot overhead and shouted, while movement and noise paralleled him in the woods.

As a child the witness hid in an old corn crib during a hide-and-seek game near a relative's house at sundown. Inside the dark crib the witness heard heavy breathing and saw a huge hairy man-like creature standing over them staring, with a hog-pen-like smell. The witness ran back to the house crying and reported the encounter to a relative, who did not take it seriously.
