Train spotters describe night time incident at Folkston Funnel (railroad junction)
Four people were train-spotting and camping by railroad tracks at night when they heard noise in brush across the tracks and saw eyeshine and a large silhouette swaying. They reported a foul odor, cats fleeing, and rocks thrown toward them from the brush direction, with impacts sparking on the tracks. One teen went inside while the remaining witnesses heard chatter and a branch snap south of the first figure, leading the witness to think two creatures were present. The witness then lit the brush and saw a tall bipedal silhouette stand before it disappeared, with no further activity over the next two nights.
YESTERDAY (09/01/2024): Hikers hear chatter and whoops of a large animal in Founders Grove, 33mi SE of Eureka
The witness and a companion were hiking the Founders Grove loop just after sunset when the woods went quiet and they heard chattering vocalizations. They felt immediate dread and judged whatever made the sounds to be huge. As they retreated toward their vehicle they heard movement in brush going deeper into the woods, and when the witness whooped back the chatter answered again. They hurried back to their car.
Wood knock in Mississippi (2023)
While bow hunting on private family land, the guest heard repeated loud wood knocks all afternoon. Walking out after dark he heard a loud guttural growl, movement in brush, rapid chatter-like vocalizations, a human-like whistle on one side and a low hoof-like reply on the other. He walked quickly to meet his friend and left equipment to retrieve by truck.

On a preliminary night walk with the group the witness moved ahead to listen while others stayed behind. He heard twig breaks moving across his front, a group leader later reported a head peeking around a tree on thermal, another participant reported a dark hunched silhouette moving along a ridge, and the group heard chattering from downhill. The sounds stopped when approached and the group returned.
Kayakers report camp intimidation all night long on Lower Buffalo River
Two campers floating and fishing the Lower Buffalo River heard loud monkey-like vocalizations from the bank and later camped on a gravel bar. Through the night they reported repeated wood knocks, yells, chatter, whistles, a tree snap, and cantaloupe-sized rocks landing in the river from the ridge across from camp. They lit the camp, kept fire watch in shifts, and at dawn packed and paddled out after a final rock fell in front of them.

The witness and a companion camped in a tent near a pond and listened through most of the night to repeated whoops, howls, whistles, gibberish-like chatter and rumbling from multiple directions across the water and woods. Later something splashed and charged in the water near the tent, followed by loud snorts, breathing, and footsteps on a nearby dirt road, while movement was heard between the tent and fire. The witness searched outside with a light and firearm but saw nothing, and the sounds stopped after dawn.

The witness and a companion spent three days fishing and camping at a remote lake. On calm nights trees fell near camp, and each dawn they heard rhythmic wood-on-wood pounding for nearly an hour. They saw a dark partial figure behind a lakeshore pine, heard a long piercing scream with fast hillside movement, heard distant talk-like sounds and short screams, and found a single large human-like footprint in mud on the way out. They also saw an orange light over the lake that split into smaller lights, followed later by jets overhead.

The witness's husband was hunting alone from an elevated stand on the evening of November 18, 2019. He heard a series of loud vocalizations, howls, knocks and gibberish-like sounds from dense brush, with a second individual answering from down a draw. After he shouted a warning and fired a shot toward advancing growls, two unseen creatures charged through the brush chasing him to the road, where they stopped as he fled to his truck.

During a multi-day camping trip the group smelled a terrible odor, heard knocks and gibberish chatter at night, then returned next day and fired a shotgun. Returning again that night without the wife, they heard a limb crack and a heavy thud as a rock landed by the buddy. A huge shouldered figure was seen behind the machine before they fled, later finding a high broken limb and a heavy rock.

A witness and a relative were carrying camping gear to canoes in the afternoon when they heard an extremely loud bellow followed by muffled talking-like sounds. The witness retrieved a shotgun and moved toward a river point while the relative watched from the canoes. The witness heard heavy footsteps and brush movement heading toward the rapids but saw nothing, and found dry crossing rocks with no splashing. He concluded whatever made the sounds must have leapt rock to rock to cross.

While bow hunting in a creek bottom the witness heard an extremely loud deep scream from several hundred yards away, after which a doe ran an odd looping route and bedded down. After dark he heard child-like giggling and overlapping chatter from about 50 yards moving through water and brush deeper into the woods. He waited until it passed, then left with a light on and an arrow nocked.

The witness was hunting elk with a muzzleloader several miles north of a ski area as snow began to fall. From a small canyon he heard chimp-like huffing and chattering that seemed to come from three individuals on both sides of the ravine. He tried to see the sources as the sounds kept moving ahead with him but saw nothing, then returned to camp as the storm worsened and daylight faded.

The witness left without approaching closely and returned the next day, finding no sign but noticing an unusual odor.

He looked with field glasses but saw nothing, then smelled a strong foul odor and felt intense fear. The witness and a companion spent the day fishing and prospecting near a dam and spillway while feeling watched. As light faded they walked back toward their car, sensing something pacing them unseen and stopping when they stopped. After reaching the dam road in darkness, the witness saw one large dark form and two smaller forms move around the spillway and up a hill, then heard them make repeated guttural, sentence-like sounds in response to a shout before disappearing over the ridge.

The witness was waiting by a truck for her survey partner when she heard screams, distress-like animal cries, rock-smashing sounds, and brush crashing with mumbling like conversation.
