While cleaning drainage pipes in the morning the witness heard a loud wood crack like a large timber snapping. Looking toward the sound, the witness caught movement of something large and black moving away through thick brush. The witness could discern only size and color and considered it could have been a bear.

The witness heard clearly bipedal footsteps in the woods off an old logging road while walking from the garage to the house. When the witness moved toward the sound it kept the same distance, moving when he moved and stopping when he stopped. The witness followed a short way but turned back where the road degrades.

The witness was hiking in the morning along a creek trail when a loud knock like wood on wood was heard from the uphill woods. After stopping, seeing nothing, and then taking two steps, a second single knock was heard. After watching uphill for about two minutes, the witness heard something running through brush uphill and away, but never saw the source.

After moving to western Pennsylvania, the witness took his dog for a hike on Quarry Trail in Linn Run State Park. Something paced him in thick hillside brush, stopping when he stopped, followed by two tree knocks and a loud deep scream from further up. On the return the dog acted alarmed, watching the brush behind him until they reached a rock outcropping and left. A researcher later visited the same area and photographed a bare human-like footprint and overturned rocks.

The witness was sitting in his truck overnight at a wooded construction site monitoring a generator. He heard bipedal footsteps pacing in the leaves and a loud bang on a tank that he believed was a thrown rock. A tall figure stepped to the edge of the woods beside the truck, turned to face him, then walked back into the woods. He turned headlights toward the woods but saw nothing further.

The witness and two companions entered the woods after dark to recover a deer shot earlier from a tree stand. While preparing to photograph the deer, the group heard an extremely loud scream from very close range, followed by the sound of something large crashing away through the woods toward a swamp. They saw nothing when they shone lights into the woods and quickly left with the deer without field-dressing it.

The witness was sitting alone in a deer stand in very dark, rainy conditions before dawn when a musky odor was present. He heard a whistle followed by repeated whooping from different directions, along with slow walking sounds and large branches breaking, which faded after several minutes. He stayed in the stand and noticed the odor was gone after sunrise.
Objects thrown and banging on a cabin east of Jericho
Three people were inside a small cabin after scouting for bear season when they heard banging on the outside wall and later three bangs on the door. Each time they went outside they found no one there, but they noticed a strong foul odor. An apple and later a stick were thrown from over a rise behind the cabin while they were outside and loading their truck. They left believing no other people or vehicles were on the mountain.

The witness was sitting outside at night talking on the phone when she heard movement in nearby woods and then noticed a strange odor. She looked up and saw a very large, hair-covered figure standing in a field about 30 feet away. Frightened, she ran inside and locked the doors, and a family member found nothing that night with a flashlight. The next morning she and a relative found flattened grass, clearings, and tracks leading into the woods but were too frightened to follow them.

The witness was turning a dump truck and spreading stone on a remote camp road when he noticed an animal on a stone pile that stood on two legs and then vanished. After adjusting his chains and driving forward, he saw two upright, hairy animals pacing the truck in his mirror, with the larger one estimated at eight to nine feet tall. He was frightened and left the area quickly. He also noted a feeling of being watched and a nasty smell earlier while outside the truck.

As they prepared to move, an entity crossed the road from the hill edge to the embankment top, with only its large hairy legs visible in dim headlights. They left quickly and had not returned.

As they approached, they saw a tall brown-haired creature with a manlike head and gorilla-like body kneeling at the base of the tree. The creature stood up and ran a short distance into thick mountain laurel upslope, and a foul musty odor was noticed.

The witness was deer hunting in a thick pine area bordering a swamp in northeastern Pennsylvania in 1993 when he noticed a strong rotten smell. He then watched what he first thought was a large bear walking upright for about 200 yards and viewed it through his rifle scope, concluding it was not a bear. He described it as man-like, about 5'10", wide and stocky with a slight limp, and said he was frightened and ran away once it was out of sight.

An extremely loud scream was heard three times at short intervals, sounding closer each time and approaching very quickly. The witness was walking back from a grassy field off an old road when they felt watched and smelled a strong odor like body odor and wet dog. They then glimpsed something out of the corner of their eye moving parallel to the road through dense woods. They described it as larger and faster than a bear and noisy while moving, and they left quickly without checking for tracks.

Late at night the witness walked down a snowy farm lane and saw a large dark hairy figure standing by a pond about 80 to 100 yards away, feeling that it was watching them. The witness ran down the lane while loud crashing noises from the woods kept pace, then continued to a relative's house and collapsed inside without reporting what happened at the time.

They armed themselves and opened the door with flashlights but saw nothing, only hearing something walk away into the woods and smelling a wet-dog-like odor. They chose not to follow it.
