The witness camped alone for several nights using a thermal imager. On the fourth night an object was thrown near the tent, then a heat signature was seen peeking over brush along a trail. The figure stood and ran away bipedally while brush thrashed on both sides, and the witness left the thermal recording overnight.

The witness was reading in a parked van at a remote wooded campsite while a companion napped. A tall, hairy human-like figure emerged from a cornfield and followed at a distance as they hurried toward a waiting vehicle. After the witness spoke, the figure made a loud grunt, then turned toward a second grunt heard deeper in the forest and walked away. The witness ran back to a relative, and a next-day visit found a broken branch and flattened vegetation but no footprints.

The witness reports repeated encounters over three to four months near the family home involving a large bipedal animal that is not a bear and has a very strong bad odor. Dogs are frightened by it and horses become agitated when it is close, and some livestock have been lost. The witness's children also saw it while walking to catch the school bus, and a follow-up account describes a brief thirty-foot sighting of a seven to eight foot tall grayish-black haired animal.

Two companions hiking in Apalachicola National Forest stopped at a shallow brook to cool off. After leaving the water they heard rocks colliding and sticks breaking and went to investigate. They glimpsed an ape-like biped charging away through thick brush, breaking limbs and leaving a foul odor. Afterwards they noted disturbed rocks and a partial heel print that later dried out and was not photographed.

The witness reports seeing a tall hair-covered figure passing the living room picture window about once a year over several years while watching television late at night. The figure is described as walking upright past the window in one direction and sometimes returning minutes later. The witness was driving on a gravel mountain road in the early morning when he saw a small dark animal sitting in the road. A tall brown-haired female came from the woods, picked up the juvenile and carried it back into the trees. After the witness got out of his car a rock struck the car and a much larger dark individual appeared behind the car, vocalized loudly, then crossed the road into the woods. The witness drove a short distance ahead, stopped, heard movement in the woods and had more small rocks thrown toward him before leaving.
Odor near Shelby County (2008)
The witness was canoeing alone on the river in the afternoon and had to pull out to drag the canoe around a log jam. He smelled a terrible odor and was paced by something unseen that stopped when he stopped, then heard screaming, breaking limbs, and saw a large log thrown and trees violently shaking. He fled in the canoe to the center of the river.

From camp the guest received a radio call about failing thermal batteries, then the pair reported watching a small LED-like light moving through the woods like a distant headlamp before losing it.

While hunting in the late afternoon, the witness heard a loud long whoop followed by chatter apparently responding to distant shooters, then heard it again from farther along the treeline. The witness then saw a bipedal dark figure about 200 yards away walking in pines toward a break, where it stopped and crouched by a brush pile. The witness left without approaching closely and returned the next day, finding no sign but noticing an unusual odor.

Two companions were camping by a slough around 1 a.m. when loud whooping and moaning calls were heard from about 30 feet behind them and then repeated louder and closer. Their small dog cowered in the tent and stayed silent. They fled in their vehicle leaving gear behind, and the next day found the tent open, food missing, bedding disturbed, and a large unidentified footprint nearby.
Violent tree shaking startles horses and riders on a ranch near Goldthwaite
Two people were riding horses in single file a few hundred yards from a corral in the early to mid afternoon. The horses became nervous with ears moving back and forth, and a strong dirty wet-dog odor was noticed. Two closely grown intertwined trees nearby began shaking violently from about five to six feet up, though nothing could be seen between the branches. The riders focused on controlling the startled horses and then turned back toward the corral.
Teen Hears Possible Howls and Growls near Middleburg
The witness walked to and waited at a bus stop around 6:15 when loud howling, screams and growls were heard repeatedly over several minutes from a large wooded area about 100 meters away. Neighborhood dogs reacted strongly and some ran into the woods where rustling was heard. The witness was frightened by the sounds and then boarded the bus.

In fall 2007 five young men walked into semi-dense woods at night and noticed a strong foul odor. Brush began shaking violently and with flashlights they saw broad shoulders moving through vegetation, then noticed something running down a hill and a large fallen tree that had been moved from its prior position. As they left the valley they again heard movement and saw a crouched figure shimmying through thick brush before fleeing the area frightened.
