The witness went to a wildlife management area to scout for hogs with his dog. Near water he smelled a strong dead-like odor and then noticed a dark-haired bipedal creature about 80 feet away beside a tree. The creature looked between the witness's shotgun and his face, and after the witness raised an empty hand the creature stepped behind the tree and walked away. The dog had disappeared during the encounter but was waiting at the truck, and the witness felt ill and disturbed afterward.

Two companions playing golf drove up to the 17th green in the afternoon and saw a tan, 6-foot animal leap outward from a high tree branch nearby. It landed hard with a loud thud that shook the tree and moved into low undergrowth, where it was heard taking a few steps before stopping and staying hidden. The witnesses felt it was too large, heavy, and tailless to be a mountain lion or bear and suggested it could have been a juvenile Sasquatch.

Late at night the witness and a relative were indoors when they heard monkey-like hooting at the window and noticed vegetation moving outside. The relative went outside with a firearm and saw further movement near the end of the house while the witness heard grunting sounds near another window. The household dog ran to the relative but then whimpered, backed away, and refused to approach the side of the house. After a quiet interval, the two heard only distant noises when they went out again at midnight.

Two friends camped deep along a river between mountains in winter with no one else around. Around midnight they heard a huge splash as something jumped into deep water and waded across toward them with bipedal splashes. It stopped at the bank in darkness for a long silent period, then circled the camp staying just beyond firelight before leaving up the hillside. They waited until sunrise without sleep and hiked out without checking for tracks.

From near their elevated pool deck, they shone a flashlight on an unknown figure with red eyes positioned just above deck level. The witness was spending time with horses in a fenced pasture next to extensive woods when movement in brush near the barn drew attention and the horses ran toward the house. Thinking the partly obscured shape outside the fence might be a horse, the witness walked toward it and then saw a tall upright figure covered in reddish hair that grunted, looked at the witness, then pushed through small trees and brush leaving the area with loud heavy footsteps. The witness ran to the house and told relatives who were inside.

About 25 to 30 yards away they watched a large hair-covered human-like creature with long arms repeatedly striking the water for up to a few minutes. The creature then left up a steep bank without clearly looking at them, and the men later reported ground disturbance where it exited.

Six soldiers on a night recon patrol through swamp heard an unseen presence following and circling them closely for 10-15 minutes, weaving between them even after they split into two groups. Later two soldiers in ambush position heard a loud scream-roar twice, followed by the sound of a large rotten tree falling and brush breaking. The sounds then stopped and the presence was heard leaving.

A family living in a rural wood-frame home reported repeated nighttime visits over several years by two large hair-covered bipeds, one larger and one smaller. The creatures were said to peer in windows, mimic an infant's sounds, produce a strong septic odor, throw heavy tanks, damage a vehicle, and leave hair on the house. Livestock on surrounding farms were found dead with intestines removed. After the father fired through a wall at one creature, only the smaller one was reportedly seen, and activity lessened after relatives guarded the house and a protective ritual was performed.

Three young Marines were sleeping at a creekside camp when one awoke to sounds of something large in the woods. All three then listened for an extended period as something heavy circled their camp across the creek with steady bipedal-sounding steps and breaking sticks while staying beyond the firelight. They built up the fire, stayed awake until dawn, then extinguished it and walked out, and afterward never stayed overnight there again.

During summer 1965 the witness was exploring woods near military housing when he found very large barefoot prints in red clay leading into the trees. While on a trail he heard heavy bipedal footsteps that appeared to follow him, stopping when he stopped and rushing toward him, causing him to flee to the housing area. He returned with a friend and both heard the same following footsteps rush toward them before fleeing, with the friend reporting an indistinct large movement in the brush.

The witness and a companion were camping in a tent on the witness's driveway in mid-October. Around 2 a.m. under a full moon, the witness awoke to grunting and snapping trees and saw a large hair-covered figure striking and eating a deer, then dragging it uphill. The figure approached the tent, giving off a strong musky odor and knocking a frying pan from a tree before leaving. In the morning the witness found deer remains, drag marks, and a shelter-like structure of bent and broken pines.

As a young child sharing a bedroom, the witness woke to see a tall hairy female-like face at the window across from her bed. The figure tapped on the glass and motioned for her to come outside, then moved to a second window behind her head and tapped there. The next morning plants and shrubs outside the first window were found crushed, and her grandfather called police.
