Late at night the witness and a relative were indoors when they heard monkey-like hooting at the window and noticed vegetation moving outside. The relative went outside with a firearm and saw further movement near the end of the house while the witness heard grunting sounds near another window. The household dog ran to the relative but then whimpered, backed away, and refused to approach the side of the house. After a quiet interval, the two heard only distant noises when they went out again at midnight.

On a cool afternoon in February 2007, the witness and a companion hiked in the woods to look for clues about strange activity. They reported finding large human-like footprints, possible bedding areas, territorial tree markings, and a freshly fallen oak with bark that looked chewed and wet. The witness was spending time with horses in a fenced pasture next to extensive woods when movement in brush near the barn drew attention and the horses ran toward the house. Thinking the partly obscured shape outside the fence might be a horse, the witness walked toward it and then saw a tall upright figure covered in reddish hair that grunted, looked at the witness, then pushed through small trees and brush leaving the area with loud heavy footsteps. The witness ran to the house and told relatives who were inside.

A family living in a rural wood-frame home reported repeated nighttime visits over several years by two large hair-covered bipeds, one larger and one smaller. The creatures were said to peer in windows, mimic an infant's sounds, produce a strong septic odor, throw heavy tanks, damage a vehicle, and leave hair on the house. Livestock on surrounding farms were found dead with intestines removed. After the father fired through a wall at one creature, only the smaller one was reportedly seen, and activity lessened after relatives guarded the house and a protective ritual was performed.

While tracking a wounded buck down the mountain at dusk, the witness heard parallel movement with breaking limbs, rustling leaves, a grunt and a growl. The sounds mirrored the witness's own stops and starts and at times fell silent. The witness fled through a briar patch to a truck, heard grunting again behind, and never saw the source.
