The witness was photographing along the tree line on the south side of the lake when she heard a close grunting-snorting sound followed by a deep growl without seeing the source. Shaken, she returned toward two fishermen and then left across the dam, photographing a large print in the mud. From the car area she heard the same loud vocalization coming from across the lake where she had been and saw the fishermen hurrying across the dam, after which all parties left.

In the early afternoon the witness and companions were walking down an old logging road when they heard strange whistling, gurgling pig-like sounds and trees shaking nearby. The witness approached to about 30 feet and saw the back of a light beige, clean-haired figure with darker face and hands holding trees, which then struck trees, turned away, and ran off on all fours while whistling continued from across the road. Companions farther away heard the whistles, thuds and thrashing but did not see the figure.

Backlit by a carport light, he saw a large wide shape that vocalized again, circled with him as he retrieved a rifle, then left toward the woods. Several children playing outside exchanged yelps and whistles with an unseen source that sounded progressively closer, moving from the mountaintop to the woods' edge. When a boy took a hunting dog to the treeline, the dog stayed silent with raised tail and ears, stopped, and refused to advance. An adult also noted a foul smell during the few-minute interaction, after which the sounds stopped.

The witness became stranded alone when a car sank in soft sand on a remote forest road. While digging out the tires, the witness was struck by a thrown rock, then heard movement, footsteps and loud hissing vocalizations from the surrounding brush. A large wet adult creature and a smaller juvenile were then seen at close range crossing the road, throwing material at the car, before disappearing into the forest.

A lone member sat in a daytime observation post in Area X and heard mouth-pop sounds from multiple points. He imitated the sounds and received a menacing growl, then the animal bluff-charged him. He saw it only briefly, fired a warning shot, and it stopped and retreated.
Vocalization in Minnesota (2012)
The guide was sleeping alone in a hammock set apart from his crew when he awoke to sobbing sounds and heavy bipedal footsteps moving through camp. A large presence stopped beside his hammock breathing heavily, and when he threw off his tarp his hand struck a tall muscular very hairy chest before the creature fled crashing through thick brush. No tracks were found on hard ground but the path through the brambles was clearly visible.

The witness and friends scouted a new graveyard with a digital recorder that captured a voice saying never return and last chance. They returned around 2-3 AM, one friend woke saying keep driving, and the driver later gripped the wheel, told the witness to turn off lights, and appeared stroke-like. After lights were turned on the driver had no memory of the night, and the group stopped ghost hunting.

A strong odor was noticed and large footprints were found the next day.

The witness claims a family group has visited a rural wooded property regularly for nearly two years, typically evenings to early mornings several times a week. Reported activity includes footprints, wood knocks, odors, vocalizations, trail and structure formation, and direct sightings with food exchange and close interactions. An investigator visited the densely brushed property, observed extensive trails and shelter-like spots, and interviewed the household about four to five individuals of different sizes.

After hearing twig snaps and a huffing exhale, the witness looked up to see a tall black bushy figure about 20 yards away by a tree. It ducked to a squat and shuffled quickly as the witness armed the camera and ran to the road, then drove home shaken.

The witness stayed overnight at a friend's rural trailer after reports of something frightening dogs and taking raw meat. After a heavy impact rocked the trailer and left dents, and a chained dog's chain snapped, the group smelled a musky odor and later saw a tall gray-brown figure in the driveway under lights. The figure raised its hand after the witness did, snorted, then ran into the woods.

He then saw a reddish-brown female-appearing figure squatting across the creek near a beaver dam, apparently washing something in the water. Late at night the witness went onto an elevated deck after hearing brush noise and animal sounds. Something heavy walked up a ground-level dock and stopped directly beneath the deck. The witness saw only a large dark shape through the boards while it made loud sniffing breaths, then fled back inside.

Late at night the witness walked home alone along a familiar wooded trail and heard something moving parallel in the brush, breathing heavily. When the witness stopped the sounds stopped, and when walking resumed the follower kept pace. The witness ran toward home and the follower pursued onto gravel and pavement on two feet while making low growls and calls and trying to cut the witness off. At the house the witness's dog confronted the unseen pursuer, which halted very close before withdrawing into the brush.

At dusk the witness heard a weed-eater-like whirling sound from the woods behind the backyard and walked back to investigate. He saw a dark figure sitting with its back to him that stood up, gathered something to its chest, and quickly left into the woods. He described the figure as female, about six feet tall, about 30 yards away.

The witness and two friends were on a three-day hiking and camping trip in the mountains near Asheville. On the third day they were spread out traversing a steep slope when the witness stopped to rest and heard movement in thick brush below. Something rushed from behind, knocked him into a tree, then stood over him as he lay on his stomach, vocalizing loudly when he tried to look up and swaying while breathing heavily. It glanced toward a second noise downhill, then left as the friends approached calling out, leaving the witness injured and shaken.
