Alone at sunup to hang a trail camera, the witness encountered two black-haired juveniles about 15 feet away. The larger one stepped toward him, bared teeth and growled, then followed him to the road and struck him between the shoulder blades, knocking him across the road. The witness grabbed for his sidearm but did not shoot as the creature walked away.

The witness family drove at night to check wildfire damage and stopped to inspect smoldering spots. After hearing grunts and clicking mouth sounds, headlights revealed three hair-covered figures of different sizes standing near burnt trees. The largest figure gestured with its arm and vocalized loudly, then stepped toward the witness as the group retreated to the car and left. The encounter reportedly lasted about ten minutes.

The witness was driving on Highway 109 in early afternoon when a deer ran across the road, prompting slowing for a possible follower. A large bipedal male creature then ran across the road in three strides and stopped on the embankment about 20 feet away, facing the witness. After staring, the creature made a bared-teeth threat display, vocalized loudly, gestured to go away, then turned and disappeared into brush.

Six people hiked up a forest road at night to revisit the witness's prior sighting area. After making knocks and whoop calls, they reported hearing a return knock, whoops, a guttural grumble and a moan, and seeing multiple eye-shines. Later in a quarry area they reported watching a human-like figure in night-vision goggles that crouched when noticed, followed by a rock thrown nearby, after which they left.
Footsteps in Washington (2012)
Two brothers parked for a late-night talk on a forest road when heavy footsteps surrounded the car on several sides and powerful growls approached the rear. After repositioning the car in moonlight they saw a dark shape shifting in a tree, heard heavy breathing, and watched a very tall muscular dark creature cross the road and peer from behind a stump. A second slender gray creature leapt across the road, the large one dropped to all fours and left, and the brothers later realized hours had passed.
Family has frequent visitors at their home near Ocean Park
The witness claims a family group has visited a rural wooded property regularly for nearly two years, typically evenings to early mornings several times a week. Reported activity includes footprints, wood knocks, odors, vocalizations, trail and structure formation, and direct sightings with food exchange and close interactions. An investigator visited the densely brushed property, observed extensive trails and shelter-like spots, and interviewed the household about four to five individuals of different sizes.

The witness parked to check two close trail cameras and felt strong pressure and dread. After hearing twig snaps and a huffing exhale, the witness looked up to see a tall black bushy figure about 20 yards away by a tree. It ducked to a squat and shuffled quickly as the witness armed the camera and ran to the road, then drove home shaken.
California BFRO researcher has sighting with a thermal imaging unit in Wenatchee National Forest
Shortly before midnight during a multi-camp expedition, the witness borrowed a handheld thermal imager to look for the cause of a branch break near camp. Through the imager he watched a large unclothed human-like figure partly behind a tree about 30-50 yards away for over two minutes as it moved its head, dropped to the ground, crawled and gestured, then stood motionless with its back to him. He left to get recording equipment, but the figure was gone when another researcher checked moments later.

The witness was driving slowly while road hunting in a gated clearcut area before dark. A large black figure stood up about 15 feet away on a steep downhill slope, showed agitated movements and cheek puffing, muttered and then screamed before leaving over a stump downhill. About an hour later the witness returned with two companions and all three heard pounding on trees and mumbled vocalizations before leaving.

After dark, movement in tall brush and heavy hits on gravel preceded a tall dark biped running fast into trees, terrifying tethered dogs. Later nights brought woman-like screams and heavy pacing behind a tent, prompting early departure.

The witness, a newspaper carrier, was stopped by the road in the dark reviewing a route sheet. A figure approached the vehicle from the passenger side to within a few feet, appearing curious and focused on the inside of the vehicle, then crossed the road. The encounter lasted less than a minute, after which the witness drove away quickly and called emergency services.
Nighttime sighting by family on Hwy 12 near Packwood, Labor Day Weekend
The witness was driving east on Highway 12 at night with relatives when headlights illuminated a fur-covered biped on the roadside. After passing it and turning around, they saw it again after it had crossed the road, passing within a few feet as it walked by the guardrail before it disappeared on a second turnaround.

Four telephone-line workers heard ape-like high-pitched sounds while working on an isolated road lined with pines and brush. After the witness mimicked the sounds, a large hairy biped crossed the road about 60-70 yards away and paced back and forth, repeatedly stopping in the road to stare at the witness. The witness described upright human-like walking, long arms at the sides, hips wider than shoulders, and an extremely large foot. The animal eventually left into thick bushes leading to heavy fir.

Late at night the witness was driving home with an infant passenger on a wooded road with a guardrail and creek. A dark figure crouched by the guardrail stood, raised its arms, then lay down in the lane and the car drove over it. The witness left the scene out of fear, later reported hitting a bear, but no record of the call or physical trace was found the next day.

A prospector reportedly found a dead creature in a mountain campsite area in 1992 and called the forest service. The story was written up in the local paper and then went cold. The campground where it was found closed afterward and never reopened.

The witness and a companion were camping beside a slow creek at night when the witness stepped away from the fire and heard footsteps in gravel across the water. A large slender figure that had frozen in place then took two strides up the bank, glanced back, and went into the woods. The pair quickly packed their belongings into the truck and left the site that night.

The witness had moved to a remote rural property to help a relative with horses. After months of unease, inner voices warning away from the stable, horses acting strangely, and a sense of being watched while watching television, the witness awoke at night to shaking, heavy breathing and snoring mimicry outside. Looking from an upstairs window the witness saw a very tall hairy apelike form peering into a lower window that turned, vocalized, and frightened the witness into a corner until daylight, after which the witness left the property within days.

While driving in a truck at twilight, the witness and a companion watched a large upright furry figure cross the road in a few long strides and disappear into the trees at the road edge. After stopping and getting out, they heard movement ahead in the woods, then a loud scream, and ran back to the truck while wailing continued behind them. They agreed they had encountered a bigfoot and returned the next day to find broken limbs but no footprints.

While hunting with a companion, the witness smelled a strong animal odor and saw a large hairy figure crouching near a swamp. The figure stood to full height and was watched for several minutes, reacting nervously to movement and making vocal sounds. The pair fired into the road to scare it, and the creature then fled into the timber.

The witness was drift-fishing alone at a river bend while a relative fished out of sight. After hearing a repeated striking sound, the witness looked across the river and saw a large dark bipedal figure repeatedly lifting a fish overhead and striking it on a rock. After watching briefly the figure carried the fish away toward the woods, and the witness reeled in and ran to tell the relative, who suggested it was another fisher and did not investigate.
