The witness was walking on a dirt road in the evening when a gray-brown figure was seen standing between bushes at a distance. After the witness spoke, the figure made a loud grunt, then turned toward a second grunt heard deeper in the forest and walked away. The witness ran back to a relative, and a next-day visit found a broken branch and flattened vegetation but no footprints.

After calling for about two hours he watched approaching turkeys suddenly flee, then heard slow bipedal footsteps in the creek bottom. The witness waited before leaving on foot, heard a loud fresh tree break, ran to his four-wheeler, left, then returned with a rifle to watch the treeline.

The witness was patrolling near wooded wetlands late in the morning and noticed unusual limb arches, teepee-like and X formations near the road. From a ridge he watched a single hairy biped for about 10 to 12 minutes as it broke a small pine tree, investigated the stump, and appeared to eat ants from a rotten stump. The creature sniffed the air, showed no aggression, then walked away apparently unaware of the witness. The witness noted an apparent left arm injury and described the animal as about his own height, thin, and more human-like than expected.

A group of seven hikers were hiking on a mountain trail in the afternoon. They heard cackling, yelping, growling and moaning sounds and found the trail blocked by a large uprooted stump with placed boulders and smashed trees. During an overnight fishing trip the witness and his girlfriend were sleeping in a parked vehicle near a cabin when they noticed a tall hair-covered figure standing at the tree line and two smaller crouched figures near a truck. A companion reported something running across the road as they drove, and later the group heard commotion near the lake.

In December 2001 four hunters were leaving the woods along a logging road after dark when something in the adjacent swamp repeatedly screamed and charged toward them while breaking branches. The group was armed but could not see the source, felt the ground shake, and described the screams as extremely loud and frightening. After several bluff charges, the source moved deeper into the swamp and the hunters left the area.

A couple left the trail to take photos by a creek. They heard loud deep roaring, scream-like and growl-like vocalizations approaching from across the creek, along with large branches breaking, and believed something was circling them. After the sounds stopped they felt watched, fled down the trail, and heard a large animal tracking them along the creek.

While deer hunting from a tree stand in the morning, the witness was approached by a companion who was pale and frightened and said something had stalked him aggressively and emitted a terrifying yell. The two investigated together and reported finding trees snapped off high above the ground and deep elongated impressions in dry ground, which they followed for two miles into dense foliage. The witness adds that he was stalked himself the next day.

Something in the woods mirrored his footsteps and paced him as he ran back, staying about 25 meters away despite his speed. Six soldiers on a night recon patrol through swamp heard an unseen presence following and circling them closely for 10-15 minutes, weaving between them even after they split into two groups. Later two soldiers in ambush position heard a loud scream-roar twice, followed by the sound of a large rotten tree falling and brush breaking. The sounds then stopped and the presence was heard leaving.

The guest was dropped off to hunt alone from a ground blind on a wooded mountaintop. He watched a large hair-covered biped for about 45 minutes as it struck trees with a rock and listened, pushed over a tree to extract a small mammal, killed and ate it, and dug with a stick. The animal later moved around the mountain, after which deer ran past and the frightened guest waited in a tree until his companion retrieved him.

They watched two very large black upright figures and then a third taller one stripping branches and bark from trees for about 15 minutes from about 125 feet away before running back to their camper. The witness's car sputtered to a stop on a bridge and the witness set out on foot toward home. From a dark forested slope the witness watched a tall tree thrash, then heard a massive thud, three loud knocks, and rapid footsteps sprinting uphill toward the road. An unseen presence stopped feet away breathing sharply, then repeatedly ran ahead and waited, forcing the witness to pass it several times over an eighth to a quarter mile. Near dawn where cover ended the presence vanished without ever being seen.

A week later the witness returned to the same woods with a relative and dogs. Footsteps followed them and stopped when they stopped, then something circled them whooping and making gibberish sounds while another answered from the right. Trees sounded like they were being ripped up and the dogs fled the area.

The witness and four companions camped overnight on a mountain ridge to celebrate finishing a music recording. Late at night they heard clear bipedal footsteps approaching up a steep slope, followed by breaking limbs and circling around their camp outside the firelight for over half an hour. They also heard loud exhaled huffs that frightened them. They abandoned camp and returned the next day for their gear.

The witness was bass fishing along a lake bank when a commotion in nearby woods drew attention. A large upright apelike creature about seven to eight feet tall emerged, made whoop sounds and a low growl, snapped off a small tree and slapped the ground while staring with flexed muscles. The witness slowly backed away looking down, the animal followed a short distance then turned, paused near a bushy spot, and walked into the woods. The witness rejoined companions who laughed, and has not returned to the area.
