The witness was camping with family near the Elwah River and was sitting outside after others went to sleep when a rock struck the tent twice. The family moved to their car, and the witness later stood outside in darkness sensing a very tall man-like presence nearby, hearing breathing, footsteps and snapping twigs and smelling a musky foul odor. After headlights showed nothing, the odor and sense of unease lifted and the family returned to the tent for the night before breaking camp the next day.
Someone or something walks by house and peers from around a tree
As a child the witness was at home at night with siblings and a cousin when the doorbell rang repeatedly with no one there. An older brother became hysterical after seeing something peeking from behind a tree and gesturing, and later a neighbor arrived saying something had followed him in the woods. Two older girls then saw a dark form at the bottom of a trail that moved and had red eyes, and also something with a cone-shaped head peeking around a garage, and the younger children later saw a large figure pass by a window.

A youth camping group spent the night in a clearing near dense blackberry brush. Late at night the reporter and companions heard movement approaching through the brush, then retreated to sleeping bags. Overnight two unseen creatures reportedly entered camp, vocalized softly, disturbed food supplies, and stepped on and touched one sleeping girl who remained awake while others slept. At dawn no footprints were found on dry ground.

A teacher and companions are said to have encountered a tall creature on at least six occasions near an old bridge in Cooke County, Texas. The encounters occurred at night from a vehicle, with the figure seen as a tall silhouette in headlights and heard making threatening noises while moving through brush. On one occasion the creature was described as bouncing a limb, whose height was measured the next day, and daytime searches reportedly found bones in the creek. Near the site of a previously found stick shelter they heard a tree snap and crash nearby, then turned back while snapping sounds seemed to follow them to the clearing.

While leaving through the woods toward the car they heard loud screeching and something large jumping nearby without being seen. They left quickly in the car, with the witness feeling the source was too big to be people.

A group staying in a high-elevation pine forest reported repeated large footprints and strange nighttime sounds over an unspecified period. During one late-night episode, one person looking out from a shelter saw a large shape briefly enter moonlight and then leave. A very large size and long stride were reported for the shape and tracks.

The witness was positioned on one mountainside watching across a valley toward an opposite slope where an elk was being stalked by two large brown animals first taken for bears. Viewed through binoculars, the two stood upright and walked on two legs, keeping the elk between them and at times hiding behind trees before entering heavy timber after about five minutes. The outcome for the elk was not seen, but the witness thought the pair probably killed it.
