The figure remained still and faced them before they left, and it was gone when they returned hours later with no tracks or further interaction observed.

The witness was bicycling on a trail through swamp in the early afternoon when two dark brown figures crossed the trail about 200 yards ahead. The figures paused briefly to look toward the witness, then ran off into an area with no visible trail and a steep bank and quickly disappeared from sight. The witness thought they looked like Bigfoots but considered a hoax or soldiers as possible explanations, and noted a large military helicopter flew overhead just after.

Two companions playing golf drove up to the 17th green in the afternoon and saw a tan, 6-foot animal leap outward from a high tree branch nearby. It landed hard with a loud thud that shook the tree and moved into low undergrowth, where it was heard taking a few steps before stopping and staying hidden. The witnesses felt it was too large, heavy, and tailless to be a mountain lion or bear and suggested it could have been a juvenile Sasquatch.

When a deer darted out, the figure stood on two legs and chased the deer back into the woods with fast, graceful motion. The next evening they compared the husband at the same spot and estimated the figure at 7.5 to 8 feet tall.

The witness was driving east on Highway 169 toward Virginia on a bright Sunday morning when she spotted a large silvery-gray furry creature on a hilltop clearing north of the westbound lanes. The creature walked west toward the woods with a swaggered gait, long strides, swinging long arms and a slightly forward-bent posture, showing a conical head with little or no neck. After a few seconds median trees blocked the view, and the witness continued without turning back. A car stopped on the opposite side appeared to be watching the same thing.

The witness was driving past a flooded rice field in daylight when she noticed an unusual figure, turned around, and watched a huge hair-covered biped repeatedly bending over as if searching mud or shallow water. She photographed it through her car window, honked, and saw it leave. Officers later found large humanlike tracks in the identified area leading toward adjacent woods.

At first the figure was mistaken for a large man in rain gear, but on getting closer the witness judged it far too large for a person and thought it might be a Bigfoot-type creature. The companions were shaken for hours but later denied the incident, and the witness remains uncertain whether it was a costumed person or a real creature.

The witness was positioned on one mountainside watching across a valley toward an opposite slope where an elk was being stalked by two large brown animals first taken for bears. Viewed through binoculars, the two stood upright and walked on two legs, keeping the elk between them and at times hiding behind trees before entering heavy timber after about five minutes. The outcome for the elk was not seen, but the witness thought the pair probably killed it.

While hiking near a creek behind a store at Lost Lake, the witness saw a crouched dark-gray figure that looked like a fallen tree or stump. The witness left to retrieve a camera, marking the spot with a rock pile. When returning about 15 minutes later, the figure was gone and the rock pile had been knocked over. A companion was also present and saw the figure.
