After hearing an odd sniffing sound at the car, they started down the trail and saw a large brown hair-covered biped running through the woods with its arms up and dark hairless hands. As they retreated quickly to the car, something moved fast over their heads through the branches, frightening them enough to leave the area.

He scanned the trees with a gun-mounted light and saw a tall upright creature behind a large oak that growled and screamed, prompting him to fire at the tree. The witness joined relatives and local researchers for an overnight camp on a flat mountain top. Around midday he saw a tall hairy biped cross a trail and disappear into a valley with gourds. That night the group heard wood knocks and exchanged whoops and howls with something that approached to very close range, then crashed away. Later rocks were flicked at the truck and next morning a muddy hand smudge and many tracks were found.

The carcass was gone in the morning and was later found about 120 yards away along a tree line where branches were bent about six feet high. The deer had a broken neck and torn-open chest with most organs missing, unlike coyote damage familiar to the witness. The witness felt watched and eerie, left the kill, and has avoided the area after dark since.

The witness was driving on a gravel mountain road in the early morning when he saw a small dark animal sitting in the road. A tall brown-haired female came from the woods, picked up the juvenile and carried it back into the trees. After the witness got out of his car a rock struck the car and a much larger dark individual appeared behind the car, vocalized loudly, then crossed the road into the woods. The witness drove a short distance ahead, stopped, heard movement in the woods and had more small rocks thrown toward him before leaving.

Two companions were camping by a slough around 1 a.m. when loud whooping and moaning calls were heard from about 30 feet behind them and then repeated louder and closer. Their small dog cowered in the tent and stayed silent. They fled in their vehicle leaving gear behind, and the next day found the tent open, food missing, bedding disturbed, and a large unidentified footprint nearby.

They heard several loud splashes from rocks hitting near the boat and then saw a huge upright figure in shadows on the ridge that growled. The figure tore a large limb from a pine and carried it down toward them as they motored away, and they returned at daylight to examine and measure the limb.

Two teenagers camped on a mountain logging road were harassed by thrown sticks, loud grunting and tree-banging sounds, and a strong foul odor. When they shone a light into the woods about 25 yards away, they saw a very tall fur-covered figure that ducked behind a tree. They put out their fire and fled down the trail, saying the figure followed them most of the way back.

The witness was in the yard when the dog barked at something on the ridge road about 200 yards away. The witness saw a bipedal creature stop, come downhill toward the yard, and break through an electric fence before looking around and walking quickly away over the hill. Later the witness returned with a parent to search but found no footprints because the ground was very dry.

Late at night after a loud bang on the van and seeing a shadow, nearby campers fled, then the group watched a tall hairy biped with a dog-like snout descend a rocky ridge, heard a loud growl, and were pelted with gravel before fleeing the park before dawn.
