They later found uprooted small trees, additional tracks in camp, hair on fencing, and a woody debris structure, and heard screaming and a howl that prompted a relative to leave camp.

Two boys were hiking and exploring in remote hardwood forest in the afternoon when a rock struck a tree beside them. They looked uphill about 50 feet and saw a dark, roughly six-foot-tall figure watching them intently with a hunched, swaying posture. After pausing only a few seconds, both boys ran away and never returned to the spot.

The witness and family were sleeping in a truck camper while archery elk hunting in the Fishlake National Forest. Around 1:30 a.m. something struck the side of the camper twice about 30 minutes apart with great force, rocking the vehicle, opening cabinet doors and leaving a large high dent. The witness did not go outside to look, and in the morning found no fallen limbs or rocks that could explain the impacts.

While camping with family near a ghost town, the group walked back toward camp with their dog. After the dog was sent into brush, yelped, and fled to camp, the nine-year-old [name withheld] saw a tall hair-covered figure standing uphill watching them. The family ran to camp, set up a string-and-can perimeter alarm, then heard growling and rattling around the perimeter before packing up and leaving.

The witness was watching television in the living room at night while a relative worked outside. The unused front door began to move and its knob turned, and three long hairy fingers with long black nails slid under the gap at the bottom for several minutes. When the fingers withdrew the movement stopped, and the relative later said he had not touched the door.
Possible stalking of ROTC Unit at Indian Mound Reserve
The witness was leading a small ROTC patrol on a nighttime escape-and-evasion exercise along creek and cliff trails. The group heard movement and walking above them with small rocks falling, found no one when they climbed to search, then heard heavy running footsteps and branches being swiped aside approaching them that caused the patrol to flee to a field edge. The opposing unit later said it never left base, and a next-day visit found snapped branches above head height but no tracks.

The guest described dogs being attacked over several nights, one killed in a gorge with two puncture wounds and no blood and another badly cut but surviving. Days later a partner taking garbage out saw a very tall ugly figure eye-to-eye from a deck. The guest heard heavy crunching footsteps in the gorge, shouted, fired a rifle into the air, and listened as it paused then jumped a high bank without breaking stride and moved away.

After sunrise the surrounding wildlife fell silent, several rocks were thrown toward the stand from behind, followed by loud footsteps, branch breaking, heavy breathing and a musky odor approaching to within a few yards behind the witness. After remaining behind the witness for several minutes and emitting a snarling growl, the unseen presence retreated uphill, after which wildlife sounds resumed and the witness left the area.

The witness was deer hunting alone in the morning when he heard an extremely loud low growling sound from dense cover upslope. He could not see the source even with binoculars, but saw branches shaking about nine to ten feet up and two basketball-sized rocks roll out of the cover toward him. Feeling watched and unnerved, he walked out calmly the way he had come while the sound continued until he rounded a bend in the trail.

Two hunters were camped overnight during deer season when they noticed a bipedal figure crossing a moonlit clearing. Shortly after, they heard loud screaming and crashing in brush on the hillside, followed by a log coming down, a strong urine-like odor, and renewed screams. Later, from inside their tent, both saw a very large shadow pass between the campfire and the tent. The next morning they found no tracks but noticed a large log newly present near their vehicle by the spring.

The car glanced the creature, then the witness stopped and the creature got up, approached, and chased the car, striking the rear. The crew was camped on the bank of Blackwater Creek eating dinner when a splash revealed their cooler in the creek was missing. Shortly after, a companion returned shaken saying something had watched him from across the creek. The witness shone a spotlight across the narrow creek and the group saw a large hair-covered biped stand up, its eyes shining, block the light with its forearm, vocalize, and flee. The men then left for a motel for the remainder of the job.

In 1987 the witness was deer hunting and camping in eastern Washington. After the group left him alone at a logging road camp, he heard bipedal footsteps approach his tent at night, felt something strike the tent, then heard movement near his car and a log being torn apart in a gully before fleeing by vehicle to the highway. A night or two later he returned with a hunting companion and both heard multiple chattering, tonal and clicking vocalizations from different directions surrounding the camp.

After a day of hiking, the witness and a companion were returning to their parked truck after dark in moonlight when they noticed movement around the vehicle. From about 40 feet away they saw three hair-covered upright figures, two larger and one smaller, which then ran away as the men ran to the truck and drove off. No vocalizations were heard, only the sound of contact with the truck and footsteps in grass as the figures fled.
