Growl near Port Angeles, Washington (2025)
The witness was staying alone in a small trailer-like Airbnb outside of town and had fallen asleep for the night. She was awakened by the bed swaying, wood creaking, a loud boom against the building and a deep low growl. She propped up, looked through a gap in the curtains and saw a large brown bipedal shape move very fast past the window with heavy footsteps, then hid under the covers in intense fear until morning without going outside to check.

After hearing thuds on the shack wall, three men went outside to investigate toward the outhouse. In the pitch dark beyond the outhouse they saw small pulsing dark-red lights that vanished when stared at directly and shifted position, with up to three seen at once. One man using a thermal scope saw no heat where the lights were but briefly saw a round white heat signature like a face peeking from behind a stump or tree, then later saw the pulsing red light; the lights eventually disappeared.

The witness and a companion sat around a campfire at night in a parking lot study area. From about 200 feet away they heard growl-whoop-scream vocalizations and wood-on-wood thumps, followed later by pea gravel striking the truck. Trail cameras reportedly captured gravel in motion and a large black partial figure showing shoulder, arm and open hand.
Rock thrown at vehicle plus Class B sighting 5 miles north of Quilcene
The witness was driving with a passenger toward a campsite in the evening when a small rock flew from the treeline and struck the hood near the windshield. The driver saw only the rock in flight, while the passenger reported seeing a large dark crouched figure at the treeline just before impact. Both occupants interpreted the rock as deliberately thrown and later photographed a small paint chip at the impact point.
Scream in Washington (2018)
Eleven years after the river incident, the witness was stationed at the base and took an armored vehicle into the training areas to serve as props for scout training. After dark in a large field near the river, the group heard loud screams first from the east and then from the west. Using poor night vision they watched two dark bipedal shapes move across the field toward the river. They locked themselves inside the vehicle and felt and heard something scratching and pushing on its exterior for many minutes; at dawn they found no tracks in the dry ground and learned they had been miles from the assigned site so no scouts had been nearby.
Property owner has daytime sighting, hears vocalizations for over two months north of Clayton
A couple scouting their wooded hillside property for a cabin site reported a brief daytime glimpse of a very tall figure that turned and ran, accompanied by whoops, movement sounds and a foul odor. That night both reported banging and stick impacts on their cabin lasting for hours. The next morning they reported finding large footprints and scattered sticks around the cabin.
Rock throwing in Washington (2014)
Years later the witness and his father fished where the river had shifted, leaving dry beds and a huge log jam against a cliff. A large rock struck the jam near the witness, then he glimpsed a black-haired human-like backside moving behind bushes on top. He hid his fear, led his father out, and disclosed what he saw a year later.

The witness and her husband stopped roadside south of Seabrook to photograph scenery. The witness saw a head-and-shoulders shape between trees uphill that disappeared before she could photograph it. Shortly after, a loud impact sounding like a stone hitting the metal guardrail was heard by both, followed by a second strike as she re-entered the vehicle.

Residents of a homestead in the Olympic Mountains reported continued sightings and banging on their house. The researcher built a fake rock to hide a game camera there. In 2012 the camera captured something briefly poking its head up and then dropping down out of view.
Possible encounter by young campers in their tent after hearing woodknocks near Buckley
Four friends camped overnight near a river. After a distant yelp, a companion reported seeing a large shape by the river that could not be made out in the dark. Later the two awake witnesses heard a loud knock on a tree near camp and then bipedal footsteps circling the tent, including contact brushing the tent, before the sounds moved away. A daylight check found no tracks.
Daylight encounter while hiking on the Tulalip Indian Reservation
The witness was hiking on a logging road after riding a bike when they heard a branch snap, brush crashing, and a loud strike like wood on wood. A rock was then thrown from bushes, and the witness saw a hand and a muscular, dark brown, approximately 6-foot figure facing away with a V-shaped tuft of hair on top. The witness shouted at the figure, which remained still facing away, then left the area the way they came.
Backpacker hears possible vocalizations and wood knocking in the Alpine Lakes wilderness near North Bend
The witness camped alone at a remote alpine lake and saw a black shiny shape on a ridge during a day hike that stayed motionless when called to. That evening while cooking the witness heard a loud screech, then after dark was awakened by extremely loud cracks followed by falling rocks, with a second closer event about 40 minutes later. The witness stayed awake afraid until daylight and left quickly in the morning.
Man hunting deer finds unusual feces and hears animal
While hunting deer alone in the morning, the witness heard repeated sounds like logs or poles being thrown, then found a tree with bark removed, a large packed bed, a human-like track, and unfamiliar scat. After glimpsing brown fur duck behind a log, the witness heard an extremely loud low roar-like yell from behind with crashing, then heard crashing and throwing sounds staying out of sight while leaving for about 200 yards. No full animal was clearly seen.
Hunter hears unknown vocalization in the distance, south of Lost Lake in the Norse Peak Wilderness
While camping alone in a tent on a hunting trip, the witness heard unidentified calls over about an hour and later was awakened by movement and shaking of the tent. The witness noticed the tent had been lifted and saw a shadow pass by, then illuminated a large dark human-like figure about 20 yards away that turned and ran into the brush. The witness kept lights on until sunrise and packed up and left the next morning.
Sasquatch sighting in Washington (1997)
The guest's brother and a friend were elk hunting at Mount Rainier. They returned to find their camp destroyed, then slept in the pickup with a camper shell. Around 3:30 a.m. a human-like face appeared at the window, bared long canines, and violently rocked and collapsed the shell until the men fled at sunrise.
Daylight encounter with firefighter near Skykomish
The witness, part of a two-person wildland fire crew, was descending a steep brushy slope after working a fire when a dropped shovel led him to a rocky ledge with a small cave. He noticed a foul odor at the cave entrance, then saw two rocks thrown from uphill that he concluded the companion could not have thrown. Looking uphill, he watched a dark hairy upright figure moving away through brush for a few seconds before it became still and silent, after which both men left and reported the incident.
Fishermen recount having large rocks thrown at them while fishing Steelhead on the Duckabush River
Three companions were night-fishing from a log on a river about 1 a.m. when large splashes and watermelon-sized rocks thrown from the opposite bank soaked them. In dim lantern light they saw two huge figures standing on a ledge across the uncrossable river, swaying, with glowing greenish eyes. They shouted at the figures, another rock was thrown near them downstream, and they fled on foot to their vehicle.
Backpacker observes a tall, early morning visitor in camp
The witness and a companion camped near a lake after the rest of their party failed to arrive. After hearing scream-like sounds earlier in the evening, the witness lay awake and watched a tall figure move behind a windbreak, squat to rummage through a pack, then stand and walk away. The witness woke the companion, who did not see the figure but both heard movement in the trees. In the morning the pack contents were scattered and only cookies were missing from their package.

Five miners prospecting near Mount St. Helens found large tracks and later shot at a creature watching near a tree. That night multiple creatures attacked their cabin, throwing rocks and trying to enter from all sides including the roof. The men fired back until just before dawn when the creatures left.

In a first emergency call the resident reports his sensor light came on and he glimpsed something running upright across the yard. He says something killed his dog, which was seen flying through the air over the fence.
