The witness joined a small group for an overnight camp to practice outdoor skills. In the evening the witness walked east of camp, noticed a strong foul smell and heard vegetation breaking nearby before running back to the group. Overnight the campers were awakened by sounds around the camp followed by a loud crash, and by morning the food hung high above ground was gone, the supporting limb was damaged, and a foul smell lingered. The group then packed and left the area.
Camping kayakers report rock throwing harassment on North Fork of American River
The witness and their son were camped and eating supper after dark on a wide gravel bar. A boulder estimated at about 15 lbs flew from the direction of the woods and landed about five feet from them, leaving a crater in the sand. They shined flashlights toward where it came from but saw nothing, and stated no human could have thrown it that far.
Ginseng hunter has an unexpected encounter near Blaine
In August 2003 the witness left relatives fishing to hunt ginseng on a ridge near Yatesville Lake. He claimed hearing wood-like knocks and rocks moving through the trees, then seeing a large upright hair-covered figure watching him from across a hollow. He said he spoke to it, then hurried down the mountain hearing crunching steps and more thrown rocks behind him, and then packed his family out of the area.
Campers hear footfalls, rock clicking and find foorprints
The witness was camping overnight with friends in the Mount Baker National Forest near the river. Between 2 and 3 a.m. she heard movement approach her tent and brush against it, while a companion in a truck reportedly felt a nudge and saw a fleeting shadow. The next morning the witness found multiple large footprints around her tent, the trail and vehicles and made a plaster cast of the clearest one. While waiting alone in camp later that day she heard persistent clicking from the woods and felt watched.

The witness visited a relative's house after a goose was found dead with a broken neck, punctures, and missing insides. She also reports finding a four-toed footprint, flattened weeds suggesting something had lain down and walked through, and damage to a chicken-coop roof. The night had been unusually quiet and livestock were nervous the next morning.

The witness was home alone in the evening when something struck the locked front door hard. She heard a low grunting or growling sound and then saw a pair of slanted eyes and a hairy head staring at her from a few feet away in the dark. She watched the motionless figure for an estimated ten minutes. Police arrived hours later on foot and found nothing.
Footsteps in Michigan (2003)
Two siblings camped in a remote forest clearing and heard movement, a log being turned, then three extremely loud long screams from about 100 yards away. They hid in their tent, and in the middle of the night the witness heard unintelligible deep speech-like talking very close outside. In the morning they found large barefoot prints behind a bush and later found their tent flipped over when they returned.

The couple hunted an 80-acre property for years, finding straight-line tracks, a high snapped limb, and hearing knocks and strange ridge noises. A relative saw a tall black bipedal figure walking up the creek. Small objects left on stacked tin were moved and exchanged over several days.

The witness and a companion were on a late-night walk while camping when they heard a loud scream. Moments later several rocks were thrown in their direction. Frightened, they retreated to camp and left early the next morning without seeing the source.

While elk hunting on a ridge, the witness found large tracks in patches of snow and photographed them. Shortly after taking the photos, a rock was thrown from about 150 meters away and dislodged other rocks downslope. He glassed the direction with binoculars, saw only an indentation in the rocks, then left the mountain quickly feeling uneasy.

While hunting deer alone in the morning, the witness heard repeated sounds like logs or poles being thrown, then found a tree with bark removed, a large packed bed, a human-like track, and unfamiliar scat. After glimpsing brown fur duck behind a log, the witness heard an extremely loud low roar-like yell from behind with crashing, then heard crashing and throwing sounds staying out of sight while leaving for about 200 yards. No full animal was clearly seen.

While camping alone in a tent on a hunting trip, the witness heard unidentified calls over about an hour and later was awakened by movement and shaking of the tent. The witness noticed the tent had been lifted and saw a shadow pass by, then illuminated a large dark human-like figure about 20 yards away that turned and ran into the brush. The witness kept lights on until sunrise and packed up and left the next morning.

The witness and companions were hunting and camping by a gravel pit near a pond. In the late evening they noticed a strong odor from across the water and two of them crossed a dike to investigate. They heard growls and vegetation shook violently, so they retreated. Through the night they heard moaning and howls and had rocks and limbs thrown toward them from across the pond, finding no tracks the next morning.
Possible rock throwing at Batnuni Lake
The witness was sitting by a campfire outside the family motorhome with two dogs while her husband was inside with the children. She heard repeated huge splashes in the nearby lake that sounded like large boulders being thrown far out into the water, and the dogs became frightened. She discovered her husband had been inside asleep and had not caused the sounds, and he then also heard splashes while inside. A check outside with a flashlight revealed nothing further.
Unidentified sound in Texas (2002)
The witness, an infantry sergeant, led a three-person overnight guard of an ammunition holding area in northern Fort Hood. After a chem light disappeared, the woods fell silent and alternated quiet sides, followed by a loud thunk, a cold spot, approaching two-legged footsteps that produced no silhouette, movement into a thicket, and a very large rock striking the ground. The presence appeared to circle the position for about two hours until moonrise restored normal night sounds, and bait set for coyotes remained untouched by morning.

A neighbor's chicken coop was raided at night and the birds were taken whole with no remains left. The witness, who also keeps birds, visited the coop to learn how to reinforce their own enclosure and found wire mesh bent and compressed in a way they felt required great strength. The witness collected hair samples from the scene for analysis, which were later reported to be mountain lion hair.
Fishing couple describes possible rock throwing on reservoir 10 miles south of Huntington
The witness and a companion were fishing from a boat at night on a reservoir. A very heavy object was thrown from the shore and splashed down near the boat, rocking it. The witness illuminated the shoreline with a spotlight for several minutes but saw no person or animal. They then left the area quickly by boat.
Sighting by young man trimming lawn near Grants Pass
The witness was mowing a lawn when rocks were repeatedly thrown toward them, accompanied by a foul odor and laughter-like sounds. They then saw a very tall creature behind a tree and fled toward a door. Looking back, they saw it running through trees and brush.
A series of encounters on Haga Ridge near the Wayne National Forest
The witness reports inspecting the yard on May 26, 2002 after being told about footprints about two weeks earlier, finding multiple sets of large footprints following a muddy ravine through the front yard. A bird feeder was found bent over while a nearby feeder was untouched, suspected to have been pulled down by the track makers. The witness states the family has not personally seen the creatures.
