The witness camped alone on a gravel bar along a creek in 2006. Shortly after sunset he heard repeated sets of three loud strikes on trees from the forest to the south that moved between trees for about an hour. About 30 minutes after the strikes ended, a pine cone came from the direction of the forest through the campsite. He left the area the next morning.

A group of four on dirt bikes and quads stopped at night to fix a broken chain. They heard repeated loud moans, then a series of knocks like on a tree, then something running fast through dense woods around them. Frightened, they abandoned one bike and fled, finding the bike moved off the trail when they returned the next day.

The witness was camping with a group when she heard something large run up behind her through brush downhill from the campsite. She shone a flashlight and saw a pair of reflective eyes about six feet off the ground 10-12 feet away, then panicked and retreated behind the group. The group found nothing on searching but heard quiet footsteps withdrawing and a small rock thrown behind them.

The witness visited a pine forest site three times in the early morning. On the first visit he heard heavy footsteps retreating, smelled a skunk-like odor, and saw a rock thrown into water. On later visits he heard loud repeated calls and low moans, heard footsteps approach to within about 15 feet without seeing the source, had a large stick thrown near him, left food and recorded vocalizations, and noted indistinct footprints and large broken trees.

The witness and her husband were relaxing on the back porch of a mountain cabin in the evening when they heard prolonged loud howling from across the mountain to the southeast. The vocalizations lasted several minutes and did not match any wildlife known to them. About 15-30 minutes later they heard large rocks crashing downhill from a closer position on their side of the mountain.

Three people were camped overnight in a valley when they heard a deep growl followed by a howl. They then heard large branches or trees snapping and being thrown toward camp, followed by sounds of a small animal in distress and then silence. Finally they heard something large running away through the woods, breaking branches and rustling leaves. They saw nothing in the darkness and could not identify the source.

Two campers on a sandbar heard a loud scream, heavy bipedal footsteps and splashes in the creek after dark. When they left the tent with flashlights they saw large green eyes without visible pupils a short distance away on their path. After verbal warnings shots were fired toward the eyes, which advanced a few steps instead of fleeing, prompting the pair to call for help to leave the woods.

The witness stopped beside a rural road while riding a bicycle. A rock flew across the road near the witness and landed on the opposite side. The witness looked toward a steep wooded hillside but saw no person who could have thrown it, then left the area.

The witness and a companion were camping at an isolated lake over a long weekend. On Saturday morning they began hearing very loud guttural scream-growls that seemed to warn them away from certain areas, including the path to the lake, and the sounds continued into Sunday. Overnight they heard cooking gear clanging and a heavy thump like logs dumped beside their trailer, but in the morning the gear was largely in place and no logs were found, and the companion also reported a strong putrid smell.

A group was camping near a river and three men took a late-night hike down the river to throw rocks into the water. On the return they heard sounds suggesting something was following them, and the women in camp reported rocks being thrown near camp and brush moving. After going to bed the group heard a loud screech/scream twice, and before sunrise one woman was awakened by a close growl near the tent. No creature was seen.
Various incidents on British Columbia Expedition
During a multi-night group expedition the witness slept locked in a truck parked on a logging road above the tent camp. At about 4:30 a.m. something struck the truck, waking the witness, who remained still with eyes closed and heard heavy bipedal footsteps walk away down the road. After a radio mic click apparently drew it back past the truck, the steps departed again toward another camper's position, who also reported hearing movement. The episode lasted about 15 to 20 minutes and involved no visual sighting.

The witness and two companions explored a deforested and mined area with piled boulders and abandoned mine buildings. Over about an hour they heard tapping from the woods, running footfalls, crashing in brush, and other strange noises, while stones were reportedly thrown toward the companions. In darkness the witness heard bipedal footsteps approach, contact and scratch the rain cover and disturb stakes, then heard a second set of footsteps nearby and distant rock-clicking sounds. After triggering a vehicle alarm, a branch broke as something walked away. In the morning the witness found a footprint-like mark, lifted stakes, and bent trees.

The witness woke in the middle of the night while camping in a tent at a wooded campground near Baker Lake. For about an hour the witness listened to distant yelping and other loud vocalizations that sounded distinct from dogs barking elsewhere in the campground, along with sounds described as rocks being thrown in the woods. The witness did not see anything and reported that no companions mentioned hearing the sounds the next day.

The witness and her husband took two nieces to wade at a swimming hole under a railroad bridge. While the husband explored the wooded edge alone, he heard whisper-like voices and mirrored footsteps that left him uneasy. The group apologized, left tobacco, and departed without investigating further because of the children.

Later that night while kneeling to build a fire with a companion, two small sticks came from the dark woods and landed between and behind them. After others went to the water and noticed many crayfish, the group heard thumps by the fire, found the fire logs disturbed and later the tent support bent, then left the camp that night and did not return.

Around 12:30 a.m. they heard distant vocalizations from two different directions, then small stones were thrown toward their picnic table over an extended period while they felt watched. Shortly before sunrise the next morning, several members of the group heard a brief speech-like sound from dense woods that shocked them. No visual sighting occurred and the witness left later that day.
Young Girl Experiences Rock and Stick Throwing
The witness was walking home at night near a creek when something began throwing sticks and rocks and following her. The throwing reportedly paused when cars passed. She ran to a bridge where the pursuer entered bushes but continued throwing objects, while she heard footsteps, smelled a strong bad odor, and glimpsed only a large dark figure. Footprints were reportedly found in sand the next day.

Moments later a baseball-sized rock landed where the witness had just been standing, with no visible source. The pair then heard loud wood-on-wood impacts first ahead on the hill and then behind them, which they could not explain. They reported no sighting, odor, or footprints, and nearby hikers with dogs showed no unusual reaction.
