Two campers floating and fishing the Lower Buffalo River heard loud monkey-like vocalizations from the bank and later camped on a gravel bar. Through the night they reported repeated wood knocks, yells, chatter, whistles, a tree snap, and cantaloupe-sized rocks landing in the river from the ridge across from camp. They lit the camp, kept fire watch in shifts, and at dawn packed and paddled out after a final rock fell in front of them.

The witness then saw two upright hairy figures, one about 4 feet tall and one about 6-7 feet tall, and one threw an object toward the stand. The witness was hitchhiking and camped for the night in a hammock under a river bridge. During the night he heard unknown noises, a cough/grunt sound, whistles, rocks thrown toward him, and a very loud crash near his hammock. The witness was alone fishing and camping by a lake and creek. After noticing a foul litter-like odor, the witness heard a loud knock, whistles, and rustling, then had large rocks repeatedly thrown toward camp. After hearing an extremely loud angry whoop, the witness fled by car while loud noises moved through brush alongside the road.

The witness was bow-hunting deer from a tree stand at dusk when deer ran through the creek below after a scream and thump. After climbing down to investigate, he smelled strong body odor, heard tapping and vocal sounds coming from two directions, and had acorn-like objects thrown at him. He then briefly saw a large dark figure watching him from cover before fleeing the area and never returning.

The witness reports hearing howling and whistle-like sounds behind their house near woods outside town frequently over about three weeks, usually around 2 a.m., distinguishing them from nearby trains. They also report hearing heavy footsteps that step, pause, then step again, and finding a deep mark in mud behind a shed and leftover field pumpkins missing. No visual encounter is described.

Three hunters camped in a river bottom over the opening weekend of bow season. Over several days and nights they reported heavy impacts, rustling, a skunk-like odor, red eyeshine, wood knocks, whistles, talk-like mumbling, a whoop-ending vocalization, and bent trees and branch structures. The most intense moment was a predawn episode with a deep guttural roar followed by a scream-like sound near camp. They left early after smelling the odor again near a plum thicket.

The witness and a young relative spent the night in a camp trailer near the family house. Over several hours at night they heard heavy bipedal footsteps circling the trailer, brushing and clawing sounds on the siding, door and ceiling vent, and later blows to the trailer. The witness reported a brief glimpse of a long shaggy finger-like shape through the vent screen, and said the sounds withdrew when a car approached and returned later.

The witness lived on wooded acreage in the early 1980s and reported ongoing strange activity over several years. He described finding a pole teepee structure and twisted saplings, hearing distant whistle-like sounds and whistling on the hill, seeing red and green eyeshine at night, pursuing unseen footsteps in snow without finding tracks, and having rocks and wood thrown. He stated he never had a clear sighting but concluded an intelligent, elusive presence lived nearby.

The witness and his wife returned in late January to a rock grotto where he had earlier found a possible bedding area. They found the bed intact but an old wagon moved from a ledge with drag marks in the rock. Throughout the night the group heard bushes thrashing, repeated tree knocks, and loud long whistles coming from different sides of the camp. Counselors kept everyone by the fire until daylight, when another scout group helped them leave and police were called but reportedly found nothing.
